Writes that he is shipping lime to Colonel Stevens and asks that he sell the lime for cash at a particular price. Also mentions a shipment of lumber which he is sending to another business associate.

Encloses a letter (not present) by Mr. McCombs regarding the purchase of lime from Knox, and its delivery to his house in the east end of Long Island. Touches on the price of the lime and the arrangements they must make. See GLC02437.06665 about the same topic.

Discusses financial arrangements he has made with Colonel [Ebenezer] Stevens and Joseph Peirce. Comments on Stevens' difficulty selling Knox's lime, because the quality is considered to be poor.

Colonel Stevens plans to soon sail from his present location, bound for Kings Ferry, New York. Has endeavored to fulfill Knox's instructions in Knox's absence (Stevens possibly writes from New Windsor, New York).
