Stock certificates (approximately 140), pay tickets (approximately 60), timeslips (approximately 50), receipts, legal papers, and financial documents. The pay information has genealogical research value. Some of the pay stubs and tickets are made out to "Italian #102," etc., denoting employee designation based on nationality and ethnicity (See Box 2, folder 5, and Oversized folder). The collection contains cancelled common stock certificates from #4960-5200, Feb. 18-Nov. 19, 1920 (with some gaps). These stock certificates have Maine Central Railroad Company letterhead, and contains some other documentation.

Papers concerning the interest in the building of the Portland-Lewiston Interurban Railroad and its various phases.

This collection is made up of business and corporate records of varying types from different railroad companies. They may have been used by Fuller, the probable donor of the collection, to write New England Railroads: Past, Present, and Future. The collection features records from the Boston & Maine Railroad, the dominant railroad of the northern New England region of the U.S., Eastern Railroad Company, Great Falls Railroad Company, Kennebunk and Kennebunkport Railroad, and York Harbor and Beach railroads, among others. There are accounts, ledger books, pamphlets, advertising, petitions to the government, lawsuits, etc. The content is sorted by company and by year. A full list of contents may be found in the source file, as provided by the donor. There are three volumes in the collection. Box 2 holds the Eastern Railroad Company ledgers, vols. 1 and 2, 1882-1886. Box 5 holds Western Massachusetts: A History, 1636-1925, Vol. 4. This volume presumably holds information about some railroad magnates of the late 19th and early 20th century.
