At sixteen, I felt I would always be a misfit. Popularity had eluded me, and I was pretty much a loner by choice. My world existed on the internet; gaming, and chat rooms were my escape, because there, my anonymity was my shield. Known by my handle, D-10, I fit in with the others, and met some phenomenal virtual friends. One special friend in fact was Dastardly Damned. We clicked. We gamed online, and finally we made plans to meet at a local hangout. Only I never saw his face. I never saw what was coming. My life would never be the same. And DastardlyDamned would pay...

Dirty Diana is back in the second insight into her fascinating and exciting life! And she wastes no time in sorting out the bad guys. Diana is an assassin whose beauty queen looks do not give away the deadly killer that lurks within. Skilled in martial arts and the use of lethal weapons, Diana proves time and time again that she is no pushover and is a force to be reckoned with as she helps Mr. America's secret organisation to rid the world of lowlife criminals. It's not all killing for Diana though. Diana has a heart of gold and the less fortunate members of society hold a special place in her heart, which stems from her own humble beginnings and tough start in life. A face from her earlier life appears, and Diana learns some truth about the past, which enables her to lay some ghosts to rest.

Taylor uses performance theory to explore how public spectacle both builds and dismantles a sense of national and gender identity. Here, nation is understood as a product of communal "imaginings" that are rehearsed, written and staged - and spectacle is the desiring machine at work in those imaginings. Taylor argue that the founding scenario of Argentineness stages the struggle for national identity as a battle between men - fought on, over, and through the feminine body of the Motherland. She shows how the military's representations of itself as the model of national authenticity established the parameters of the conflict in the 70s and 80s, feminized the enemy, and positioned the public - limiting its ability to respond.

Her former rich-girl life is a smoking crater... time for a fresh start! After her dad kicked her out, Lorette Howland's life took quite the dramatic turn. Instead of a penthouse and a no-limit credit card, she's now the not-so-proud owner of a building full of mold and trouble. And she has to sleep on a blanket on the floor. The world thinks she'll soon be found in a dirty back alley. Dead from booze and being too damn clueless to live in the real world. Even her few friends think she's heading full speed for disaster. But Lorette never gave a damn what other people thought of her—and she's not about to start! Now that she has come to terms (sort of) with her new situation, she is ready to start turning both her life and her nightmare building into a jaw-dropping success! First on the list: making sure she has a less shameful place to pee and an actual bed to sleep in! But as her own life entangles with that of her new friends and tenants, Lorette finds out that living in the real world is more complicated than finding out where new furniture comes from.
