This handbook addresses the intersection between corporate sustainability and digital transformation. It analyzes the challenges and transformations required to be able to have sustainable businesses with a future orientation. Topics include current and potential social, demographic, technological, and managerial trends; the implications of the digital revolution in society and business; as well as the challenges of being sustainable, and profitable. Providing an understanding of the business reasons to incorporate a future orientation into the business strategy, this handbook facilitates an understanding of the need for profound changes in individual behavior, organizational culture, public policy, and business environments to adapt to the accelerated changes and manage business with orientation to the future.

The book offers a multidisciplinary investigation into the economic, technological, environmental, and social impacts of Industry 4.0 technology that ensures inclusive and sustainable growth development of regions and countries. Along with identifying new opportunities that new technology provides for inclusive growth, the book aims to propose theoretical substantiation and develop economic, institutional, organizational, and information mechanisms that aid to reduce and eliminate the potential economic, social, and environmental risks. A broad multidisciplinary approach integrating research capabilities of economic and administrative sciences, artificial intelligence and computer sciences, pedagogy and linguistics, latest findings in the above mentioned scientific areas, as well as empirical evidence and pilot innovative research projects conducted by the contributors, allowed them to draw conclusions and develop recommendations for achieving inclusive growth in industrial and agricultural production, innovation and investment activities, management and environment protection, healthcare and education associated with the use of new technology. The contributors hope that empirical materials, innovative developments, and suggestions inspire scientific research, encourage applied studies, and supplement training programs in economic, administrative, social, and computer sciences at the advanced universities and research institutions, in the post-Soviet territory, in particular.

This book highlights the opportunities and risks of digitalization and digital transformation for our global economy at both the micro and macro level. Experts from various fields, presenting both scientific and practice-oriented perspectives, identify and critically analyse areas of tension and development potential in connection with new business models and sustainability efforts in our society. It is divided into four parts, the first of which highlights new technological advances in areas such as blockchain, cryptocurrencies and fintechs, and discusses the challenges they pose for public regulation. The second part illustrates digitalization’s effects on and potential advantages for public welfare, focusing on key areas such as education, health and smart cities. The third part focuses on challenges for corporate and public management, particularly for leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility, while the fourth part discusses new dimensions for analysis based on big data. The contributions gathered here are partly an outcome of the International Conference on Digitalization, Digital Transformation and Sustainability held in Budapest in October 2020 and generously supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation.

In the current competitive scenario, the banking industry must contend with multiple challenges tied to regulations, legacy systems, disruptive models/technologies, new competitors, and a restive customer base, while simultaneously pursuing new strategies for sustainable growth.
