Diaries of the Unspoken Words is a book written based on true events that have occurred throughout my life. I wrote a series of diaries, sixteen to be exact, in which I felt were major high points and eye-opening moments, each on different levels of events--from choices that were made, consequences which had been received, emotions that were felt, and how certain scenarios were played out in different atmospheres. My hopes when writing these diaries were and still are to reach out to others who may have or are experiencing similar situations. In my diaries, not only do I give the information of the experiences, but I give hope, ways to better cope with situations, and I state my lessons I had learned throughout each diary. Diaries of the Unspoken Words is very real, heartfelt, and relatable on many levels with most of our society. The point of the title is that I want others to know that they are not alone in life, and there are many of us who go through life quietly and keep the pain hidden deep within. With that being said, I hope to bring light to anyone's darkness by sharing mine in Diaries of the Unspoken Words and to bring awareness that there is freedom from within. We just have to try and let go of what was and let be what is to be!

Unspoken Words: A Child's View of Selective Mutism, is the first book of its kind! It's written by a teenager who suffered from Selective Mutism. This unique book is directed to children with Selective Mutism as well as for parents, professionals and teachers to help them understand a child's unspoken words when unable to speak and express themselves. Sophia Blum is Dr. Elisa Shipon-Blum's daughter and wrote this book to help others understand. 'Unspoken Words' begins with a letter to children helping them to know they are not alone and others feel as they do. The book also includes a letter to parents, professionals and teachers reading the book as well with the goal of helping them understand what a child with SM feels like, may be wanting to say, but can't regarding various social settings, such as in public, with guests at home, friends who visit and with teachers/peers at school. The bulk of the book includes well-written and insightful sayings that children may be saying or actions they may be taking and then explains what they really may be meaning. Beautiful illustrations are included throughout to help 'see' what the child may be feeling. Finally, Sophia has written her story, Beneath my Shell, as a way of explaining her feelings while suffering in silence. Sophie's story is detailed, introspective, heartwarming and inspirational as she describes her personal journey to overcome Selective Mutism. Dr Elisa Shipon-Blum has a section called, 'From a Mom's Perspective' where she tells her story of when Sophie was young, Sophie's journey to overcoming Selective Mutism and hence the fuel to Dr. Shipon-Blum's life mission to understand and treat children suffering in silence. ** ALL proceeds for this book will be used towards the education and public awareness of Selective Mutism.

Those who were sick, were sent to their death ... by me because I was forced to follow the enemy. The war stole my right of beliefs, my goals for a future, my left arm, and the love of my life.I saved Amelia ?? then I lost her.And after more than seventy years, I'm told she's alive and asking for me.Will love be enough to overcome the silence of more than seven decades?

Inspired by a true story, The Diary is set in Walla Walla in the Northwest when President Roosevelt was attempting to break America free from the grip of the Great Depression in the 1930s. The keeper of the diary is Alvin, a young man dealing with tuberculosis, a contagious disease almost as rampant in that time as unemployment and poverty. Through his daily entries over 17 months of hospitalization, you will come to know his wife, family, a cast of fellow patients who are both humorous and heart-breaking...and the secrets Al thought he had buried so deep inside that not even he would remember them. The story blends day-to-day life in a tuberculosis sanatorium with world affairs that include the threat of war as news from Germany, Japan and Italy floated across the oceans to the men in Ward One. The Diary presents a slice of Americana in simpler times when the bond of family and friends was often paramount in surving the hardships of the times. It is a tale of love, loss and triumph.
