Deed books typically contain records of land transactions, leases, mortgages, bills of sale, powers of attorney, marriage contracts, and other documents of genealogical interest. This volume contains entries from Deed Book No. 8, 1720-1733, beginning on page 102 and ending on page 120 for courts held 7 March 1721/2 through 2 February 1725.

John Jolliff I (ca.1613-1658) and his family immigrated from England to Norfolk County, Virginia. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa and elsewhere.

Thomas Grimsley, who probably immigrated to Virginia, acquired land there in 1676 in old Rappahannock (later Richmond) County. He died after 1708. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and elsewhere.

William Rush was born in about 1615, probably in England or Wales. He emigrated in about 1635 and settled in Virginia. He had one known son, William. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri and Kansas.
