Much has been written both about and by people who feel they were assigned the wrong body at conception, exploring the struggles and too often the tragedies that result from that mismatch of nature. Very little has been written, however, to chronicle the lifelong struggle of people to understand and come to terms with two distinct sets of emotions, one male and one female a single soul, at times divided, at times united, by two clearly identifiable spirits. Dear Mom and Dad: You Dont Know Me, But traces the life of George through the eyes of Georgia, the female half of their soul, from early childhood in the post war Texas oil fields through the innocence of his early school years in northeastern Oklahoma. With the onset of puberty, Georgia watches the omnipresent feeling of not being normal cast a destructive pall over nearly everything George attempts. After the collapse of his lifelong dream, George begins again with hopes, new dreams and the love theyve both longed for. Georgia finally emerges, but understanding her part in their soul comes slowly and is complicated by a tragedy of profound proportion. Dear Mom and Dad considers the ultimate understanding of Gods will for both George and Georgia and its unusual conclusion, sharing a story of struggle and self-acceptance.

Michalak Senior Associate, Foreign Policy Research Institute, Philadelphia Professor Emeritus of Government, Franklin and Marshall College "A vivid story brought to realistic life." -Midwest Book Review "Dear Mom, Dad & Ethel delicately mixes fiction and history to tell the story of an American air corpsman during World War II. Or perhaps you’ve been searching for a way to thank your accommodating boss because they've shown that they "get it". Dear Mommy’s Boss is a collection of humorous, fictional letters written by young children to their mothers’ bosses to thank them for cutting their mothers some slack while pregnant and/or while they raised their children. This is a perfect gift book for women to give to their bosses as a form of thanks when going on or returning from a maternity leave or vacation or on other special occasions when they want to express their thanks to their employers for making child-related concessions. Daddy Misses Kisses and Candy at War By Kathy Barnes, Ph.D. And Jody Berg Gives parents ways to encourage 'feeling talk' when a daddy or mommy goes to war. "Avoiding feelings makes behavior worse." If you are Cora and are three, four or five years old, life is exciting and full of extremes. You run laughing loudly, and then suddenly you start screaming and crying. Your mom leans over to hug you and you hit her, yelling, "I want my daddy, not you " As Cora's mom, you try not to get your feelings hurt, but you are so tired from taking care of her, the house, and balancing the checkbook by yourself. Why complain? you shrug. I have no choice. My husband is fighting in Iraq. But Cora's behavior is perplexing, painful, and frustrating. When moms or dads read Daddy Misses Kisses and Candy at War with their child, the pictures, story, and questions on the pages will comfort both. Mom and child will learn to put words to feelings. "I'm mad at my daddy, dear Mommy, dear Mommy, I pick up the phone and call Daddy home. I promise, I'll be good and eat yucky food, when he doesn't come home, I'm in a bad mood." Mom asks Cora, "What food do you think is yucky?" and Cora lists lima beans and lemons. Then Mom rocks her, saying, "Come to me Cora, when you're mad, dear Cora, We'll snuggle and cuddle and share with God. Pick up your crayons and squiggle in red. Go you your room and pound on your bed." Cora feels understood and is learning what to do when she is mad. At night, nap time and scary, sad times, moms, dads, and their small children will read and re-read our book and learn how to share feelings. Praise for Daddy Misses Kisses and Candy at War "The children in our preschool program loved the rhyming and repetition and pictures in the book. They kept interrupting, saying, 'My friend Susie's daddy is over in that place too.' They went to lunch singing, 'Come to me Cora, dear Cora, dear Cora.'" - Sherry Clow, director of a preschool program.

Raya Schapiro and Helga Weinberg found a box of letters among their mother's effects after her death in 1990. They were written by their grandmother and uncle, trapped in Prague after the Nazi occupation, to the girls' parents who had escaped to the United States in May, 1939, leaving the two girls, who were five and seven years old at the time, behind. The 77 letters reprinted here span a period of two years, during which the Nazis drew an ever-tightening noose of destruction around the Jews of Prague: each letter is followed by notes of explanation and amplification, as well as notes on Nazi laws and official restrictions and the progress of war. Each letter has a censor's stamp on it; each envelope bears the still frightening emblem of the Third Reich. The letters dramatically convey the tension, growing daily, of existence under the Nazis, and their tone becomes increasingly desperate as every avenue of escape reaches a dead end.
