Written as a sequel to In the Service of the King, Daughters of The Colder Ocean continues the adventures of The Sea King and his magical lineage of The Tuatha De Danann, a powerful and magical race of healers who settled in Ireland, then suddenly and mysteriously disappeared. Torn between two forces; to save the oceans or to save humanity, the Sea King must join forces with either Annika Temple or the queen of the Rusalki. Annika Temple found herself numb with shock after the police showed up at her door to inform her of the plane that crashed into the ocean on its way to Russia, leaving no survivors. Losing her entire family, she found herself alone on the family farm, struggling to function until she found herself pulled into a life of mystery and intrigue, and that she was chosen to help save the entire human race from annihilation. Learning to find her strength and courage, she is confronted by Queen Dannika, queen of the Rusalki, who has devised a plan to stop humans from polluting the oceans. Queen Dannika’s plan consisted of annihilating all humans due to seeing many of her Rusalki become terribly ill from the pollution in the oceans, and finding thousands of sharks suffering horrific and painful deaths after their fins were removed. Although, on opposing sides, both Queen Dannika's mission to save the ocean and all sea life, and Annika's mission to save all of humanity needed help from The Sea King and his family of healers, whose underwater kingdom is also threatened with the ravages of pollution.

In Aimee Ogden's Sun-Daughters, Sea-Daughters, one woman will travel to the stars and beyond to save her beloved in this lyrical space opera that reimagines The Little Mermaid. Gene-edited human clans have scattered throughout the galaxy, adapting themselves to environments as severe as the desert and the sea. Atuale, the daughter of a Sea-Clan lord, sparked a war by choosing her land-dwelling love and rejecting her place among her people. Now her husband and his clan are dying of a virulent plague, and Atuale’s sole hope for finding a cure is to travel off-planet. The one person she can turn to for help is the black-market mercenary known as the World Witch—and Atuale’s former lover. Time, politics, bureaucracy, and her own conflicted desires stand between Atuale and the hope for her adopted clan. In MOTHER OCEAN, DAUGHTER SEA, Brierly, thinking herself to be the last of her long-lost kind, practices the forbidden ancient healing art at constant risk of her life. Execution is the penalty if she is caught but her need to help those who are themselves in need is stronger than any fear for her own safety. "If I am the last, I will be a flame to the end." But her attempt to save the wife of a nobleman sworn to wipe out her kind plunges her into a conspiracy of deceit and a hidden power struggle more deadly than anything she has ever known. Fifteen-year-old Carter Ellen Key has lived her entire life on the waves, traveling across oceans on the merchant ship known as the Adventurer, a ship that she calls home. Orphaned at age seven, she held tight to the memories of her father and stories of her mother, turning to them for advice even after their deaths. The Adventurer's crew became Carter's family, and Captain Rosten made it his personal duty to keep her safe. This protection kept Carter from ever exploring the land, or even sinking her feet into the sand that surrounded the ports. The discoveries and mysteries that awaited her there remained in her daydreams. As her position aboard the Adventurer climbed and her relationships with the crew began to strengthen, her dream of discovering life on the land came within her grasp. But this dream comes at a great cost. It may even cost Carter her life, or worse, the lives of the ones she loves. The fantasies in her books were just that, fantasies. The real world beyond her small merchant ship is crueler than anything she could imagine. Carter will need to adapt and learn to provide for her own safety. She must decide if she will trust in her father's words—that is, if dying for a dream is the most courageous act of all.

“As I was reading, I felt like I appreciated anew all of the beautiful and sacred aspects of love. I cried and felt like I had found something inside of myself that I'd lost. I know I've found one of those books that becomes a heart-friend; one that you read once a year, every year, for the rest of your life.” Laura Brower, Goodreads Reviewer for The Ocean’s Daughter In arm’s reach of The Snow Child and The Light Between Oceans, author Corinne Beenfield brings us a breathtaking tale that reminds us the difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary is often no difference at all. Helen Danner never wanted to return to the empty seaside cottage. Yet six harrowing months after tragedy struck her family, she gets news. Operation Pied Piper, England’s attempt to save the children of the war, is sending young refugees to Wales. So she packs her bags and finds herself at the last place in the world she hoped to be. There, facing the ocean, she asks it to send her just one child. Someone to again love. And then a strange little girl shows up in her life. Lyric, as Helen calls her, can swim beyond any adult’s ability, doesn’t feel cold, and foreign seashells often seem to be waiting for her. And why won’t she speak? Where is her luggage? There are no records of Lyric or a mother and father. With the belief that they are dead or undeserving, Helen begins to love the girl as her own. But as Helen unravels the truth about a world that wants her girl back, she must face a question she doesn’t know if she is still strong enough to answer. Do you choose to love, even if you have to let go? Readers are Loving The Ocean’s Daughter: “This is just one of those books that warms your soul. Gorgeously written with beautiful analogies, and just a touch of magic. It made me cry multiple times, as a mom who always wanted her life to be filled with children. Put it on your must read list!!!” Mallory Pierce “I would have given this book more stars if they would have let me. This book is a jewel!!! Thank you!!!!!!” Stephanie “My favorite part of this book is the way the author can construct the love a parent has for a child. This type of love is so hard to describe, but she does it perfectly. I genuinely felt like her book gives words to how my heart and soul feel about my own children.” Tessa Taylor “A beautiful work of art painted with words. This book had me laughing one minute and crying the next. I absolutely loved it!” Wendy Wall “The author has a unique talent to create a magical fantasy intertwined with real life events. I felt like I was there, and got to experience a whimsical adventure, while being grounded in a believable story.” Amy Peterson “I was sucked into the story and thought about it when I wasn’t reading it and wished I were reading it, which is about all I can ask for in a book.” Lola Copeland “It was not only riveting, but it was completely beautiful. It spoke to me as a mother and a woman. Corinne has a captivating writing style that connects you with the characters. I wept with them more than once while reading this.” Megan Lloyd “I found myself crying both tears of joy and sadness alongside the characters, as moments reminded me of my own experiences with my daughter. And the romance did not disappoint, either!” Kelly Birch “I knew as soon as I started reading that I wouldn’t be able to put this book down. That was yesterday. I was so sucked in. The words are so rich, alive on the page and so sharp you can feel them. I loved this heartwarming, and heartbreaking story.” Amazon Customer The Ocean’s Daughter is a moving gift for mothers, particularly those with foster or adopted children.
