A young queen is torn between her heart’s desire and the fate of her kingdom in this “first-rate” fantasy from a New York Times–bestselling author (Library Journal). On his deathbed, the four-hundred-year-old emperor of Atlantis has reason to worry. Signar, the savage ruler of a powerful outlying state, is scheming to seize control of the empire, and not even its advanced technology can save it. But something else can . . . From the frozen north country of Althrustri, Signar will halt his invasion if he can take the emperor’s daughter, the beautiful Empress Salustra, as his bride. Such a marriage contradicts the deepest feelings of Salustra’s heart, the secret wisdom of her lineage, and her sacred trust as Atlantis’s queen. But the emperor has a plan: Salustra will seduce Signar and then sentence him to death. In spite of every effort to harden her heart, Salustra soon finds herself falling in love with the lustful barbarian. Her loyalties gravely divided, the empress must make a decision that will change the course of history. Written by author Taylor Caldwell when she was a young girl and revised and published decades later, The Romance of Atlantis transforms the legend of a lost kingdom into an “extraordinary” tale of passion and intrigue (TheColumbus Dispatch).

In a time before history, when the Great Ice still held the world in its frozen grip, the Sea Kings of Atlantis ruled the world for a thousand years. Their longships plied the waters of the Nine Seas, and extracted tribute from every land on their shores. But that storied reign may be about to end. Herata, the newly chosen Sea Priestess of Atlantis, comes to believe that the Earth itself may be in danger from the insatiable greed of Atlantis, which draws the power to fuel its mighty empire from the blood of the very Earth. At risk of her own life, Herata investigates and learns that the danger is real. Against a backdrop of accelerating events, Herata struggles against greed, indifference, and malevolent power to awaken the Empire of Atlantis to its danger, before it becomes too late. She is helped -- or hindered? -- by a friend she makes in the glittering court of the Sea Kings, Prince Branek of the island colony of Lacaon. He swears his loyalty -- but does he really support her cause? When Herata finds out, she must act on that knowledge, and quickly. But will she be too late?

This is the account of an American teenager who discovered a monastery in Tibet that was the inspiration for the legend of Shangri La. It might be categorized as a 'new age' or philosophy book, like the Celestine Prophecy, since it focuses on his spiritual training and their teachings in a novel-like format. Hard to believe, but interestingly, the sub-tropical region amongst the Himalayas that he describes finding, was later documented by explorers from National Geographic, then 'covered up' (there is still evidence of this). Also interesting is that the author was apparently mentioned in the Edgar Cayce readings (the famous American psychic whose books have sold millions of copies), as someone who would one day bring an important message to the world.

During Reef and Sky’s time together, she learns more about her past, her power, and her princess half-sisters. Sky is forced to rethink her views on everything. But Reef has secrets of his own… This is the fourth full-length novel in the Lost Daughters of Atlantis young adult fantasy action adventure novel series. Each of the books stand alone. “Having met the Atlantean Princess sisters—Pearl, Coral and Maris—in the first three books of this fun series, I’m thrilled that Burton is continuing the saga with this story of Sky, the outsider bent on revenge, who learns that her world is more complicated than she believed. A great new heroine! In Burton’s carefully crafted world, with its alluring Royal Guards and handsome Separatist spies, there’s plenty of intrigue, action and romance to keep the stories coming for a long time. Already can’t wait for the next installment!” Reviewer Other books in the Atlantis series: Atlantis Riptide - free, Atlantis Red Tide, Atlantis Rising Tide, Atlantis Tide Breaker Novella, Atlantis Twisting Tides Novella, and Atlantis Glacial Tides.
