From a one-room Sunday school class--the lesson that's been downloaded over 8,000 times in 54 countries--comes A Rooster Once Crowed, A Commentary on the Greatest Story Ever Told. We live in those few moments between the first and the second crow of the rooster: between decision and indecision, between knowing and being known. But do you even care? Small decisions made today establish our path for all time, and yet we piddle with a piece of this and a taste of that. We diet on wisdom from antiquity and gorge on culture that is next month's joke. This story is an opportunity to gorge on Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, in context. It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and an opportunity to see for yourself what it actually is, rather than what we mold it to be, and to finally choose whether or not to care. Through small stories and a modern context, this book will help you understand and decide what you believe about the greatest story ever told.

CrowI have one rule: leave no traces behind. She compromised my identity and needs to be eliminated. So simple, right? Not even close. When she welcomes death with open arms, I can't pull the trigger.Breaking my one rule would not only put my life in danger, but it would completely destroy hers. What is the complete essence of this book? The Cosmic Harmony of Science, Scripture, and Reason. Can it be indubitably proven that God absolutely exists? Can it really be shown how science actually confirms creation by God? Given that some say not even God can create something out of nothing, exactly how did God create everything in the universe? Just how can the Holy Bible be reliable and the divine Word of God when it is challenged with so much controversy? Can it be irrefutably verified that Jesus was for real, really rose from the dead, and is the Son of God? Did the Great Flood of Noah and his Ark really happen? How? Everybody wants to see proof. Atheists and skeptics often demand it. A total of twenty-one of the most often asked and difficult questions challenging Christianity are answered by coauthors C. J. Rysen, (author of the Christian apocalyptic thriller, a novel, In the Course of Three Hours (www.inthecourseofthreehours.com)), and Dan Manternach, a public speaker and leader in the Christian Group, Ministry to Men (www.ministrytomen.net). Both men have collaborated to provide irrefutable answers and explanations in a simple, easy-to-understand, straightforward way, providing new, unexpected, and intriguing perspectives to which you likely may have never given any thought. Many of these will be surprising and often startling to anyone--whether skeptic, agnostic, or atheist. The book is also intended to be a reference source for the layperson, as well as those with formal theological or philosophical education. Although this book is intended to address these questions for the benefit of the "nonbeliever," it also is intended to prepare the believer to help answer such questions and solidify their faith. If one is intellectually honest with oneself, the explanations in this book should be overwhelmingly compelling and absolutely convincing. If they are not, one must ask the question, "Why?"

"William Albert Sinclair, born a slave in 1858, grew up in South Carolina during the tumultuous years of the Civil War and Reconstruction. Influenced by his childhood experiences, Sinclair spent his life fighting for the rights of African Americans and was an active member of the Constitution League, and their successor, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Inspired by the scholarship and activism of T. Thomas Fortune and W. E. B. Du Bois, Sinclair published The Aftermath of Slavery: A Study of the Condition and Environment of the American Negro, one of the most complete analyses of slavery and the years immediately following emancipation. First published in 1905, The Aftermath of Slavery provided a historical analysis of the late nineteenth century that underscored the existence of black resistance to white domination during slavery and Reconstruction"--University of South Carolina Press website.

Author Louis Alexander Hemans writes not only as a linguist, poet, and philosopher, but also as a man socialized in the Jamaican subset of the African diaspora. His work reflects a confluence of a variety of forces: Black consciousness, Spanish references, Jamaican dialect, folkways, flora, fauna, and the universal expression of love and sexuality. In Voices in the Twilight, Hemans’s second collection of work, he presents poems, literary letters, and short stories. His verses explore a variety of topics, including politics, philosophy of life, ancestral history, death and the afterlife, the slave trade and reparation, the Jamaican peasantry, education, nature, and romantic love—both requited and unrequited. Also included are three literary letters, with one addressed to Hemans’s uncle David, who immigrated to Cuba and never returned to his native Jamaica. The collection’s short stories are mostly set in the Anchovy area of Jamaica, near Montego Bay. This literary collection, featuring poetry, letters, and short fiction, considers a wide range of topics, from politics to romance to philosophy.
