My first thought, and I swear to you I am not making this up, was she looked like a hooker. A hundred-year-old- hooker. There was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. I was where I agreed to meet her. I walked towards her thinking, what do I do next. My next shock was almost too much to comprehend. The dress was cut low in the front. Way too low. She was not wearing a bra. Her breasts were, how can I best describe them, well they were long. Yes I said long. Somewhat flat but definitely long. I do not generally carry a ruler when I go on a date why would I but when I got home I actually held a one up to my chest and tried to estimate what I had seen. They had to be six inches long. Do they make bras in a 36L? They hung there for all the world to see. Or at least me and a now shocked twenty-something year old hostess who opened the front door for us. I was brought up to be a gentleman. Not to embarrass or humiliate. So I smiled and led her inside. Maybe I walked a tad too quickly. A table by the far wall please. Maybe on the other side of the wall. THIS BOOK WILL FALL ON MANY THIRTY GROUNDS, Elke, Berlin I INTEND TO RECOMMEND IT TO ALL MY GIRFRINDS, Judi, L.A. Ever been on a truly horrible first date, where you find yourself with someone totally unsuited to you and all you want to do is get up and run? Maybe your date dresses like a 1970s disco dancer, or licks your dinnerware. Talia's been there, over and over. This is the hilarious and often cringe-worthy retelling of Talia Leigh's experiences with online dating. She speaks candidly of her misadventures with a black-out drunk, performing life-saving first aid on a dog, and her all too often encounters with marshmallows. Interspersed with advice and lessons learned, Talia earnestly navigates her way through the world of online dating, suggesting that modern romance is not always what it's cracked up to be. But it can definitely make a great story.

This book establishes, and then analyses, the interrelation between series and dependence by focusing on two aspects of their connection: the overconsumption of TV series, and the production devices that lead to it. Due to its two-sided nature, the volume brings together specialists from different backgrounds. On the one hand, it involves people working with addiction, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, whose analytical tools and statistics are extremely useful in assessing the prevalence of TV series addiction, as well as its consequences, in order to make sense of its mechanics. For similar reasons, the authors also include professionals working with children and teenagers, since youths under 18 are largely affected by addictive tendencies. On the other hand, other contributions here are authored by TV series specialists, producers and scriptwriters, as well as academics in the fields of film and TV series studies, cultural studies, and narratology. Their specific perspectives on the topic help better understand what it is about the construction or reception of TV series that aims to create, maintain, amplify, or, on the contrary, curb their ingrained addictive effects.
