A study of existing community facilities with recommendations for improvements and plans for the development of new facilities needed to serve the growth of the county during the next 20 years. Included is information concerning schools, parks and playgrounds, medical facilities, libraries, postal services and other important community facilities.

The report discusses the resources of Harrison County, with an analysis of the structure, distribution and density of the population. Projections of the population to 1990 are made by four methods: step-down ratio, labor force participation, natural increase and migration, and cohort survival, with a summary and an evaluation of the projects derived. The economy of the county discussed based on statistics of personal and corporate income ranges, general economic indices, and manufacturing, retail sales, wholesale, farm products, and ports and waterways figures, with appropriate tables and charts. Recommendations are given for achieving long-range forecasts.
