This logbook and clinical manual aims to provide a ready format to record the activities, competencies, field visits, family studies.

This logbook has been prepared according to the latest Competency Based Undergraduate Curriculum for the Indian Medical Graduate Prescribed by Medical Council of India. As per this new curriculum, the Professor and Head, Department of Physiology needs to certify 13 procedures in clinical physiology for each and every Phase I MBBS student at the end of the session to ensure that he/she is fully competent to perform these procedures independently.

This logbook contains all the activities carried out by learner in the department of General Medicine across all the phases of MBBS.

Under the new system of medical educationcompetency based medical educationthe first month of MBBS is exclusively devoted to the Foundation Course, covering the lectures on orientation, skills module, professional development and ethics, language and computer skills in addition to the classes on sports and extracurricular activities and field visits. This logbook will help the students in maintaining a record of all the sessions conducted in the foundation course. It will also help the students in building and developing basic skills of writing which are necessary for any future doctor.

The manual is especially designed to cover the competencies recommended by Medical Council of India for the first professional MBBS students. It has been written by highly experienced, dynamic and devoted medical academicians and clinicians who are well versed with the latest trends in medical education, training and clinical practice.
