Set in the parish of Christowell England this is the story of Captain Larks, aka Mr. Arthu, that neither is Captain Larks nor Mr. Arthur, if not a mysterious soldier who renounced his own name to save a man who was his brother and official companionof misfortune. unfortunately, that has led him to retirement, so he lives now in the tranquility of the flowers and fruits of your garden.Mr. Arthur has a daughter, Rose, who falls in love with Jack Westcombe, son of a retired officer, whom Mr. Arthur refuses to see.
