Various groups and professionals dealing with children in the past decade have become increasingly concerned with the nature, extent, and consequences of child sexual abuse in Canadian society. This document contains a composite picture of the many community efforts supported so far through the initiative. The summaries are categorized by the funding priorities that were determined at the start of initiative. These priorities are: prevention, treatment, and training/education. Projects are categorized as conferences/programs, research/evaluations, and resources. Abstracts provide information on sponsors, funding, project duration, and project goals and outcomes.

This document discusses the Peterborough Sexual Abuse Treatment Network, the implementation and evaluation of a coordinated service model for child sexual abuse in rural community settings, the Charlotte County intrafamilial sexual abuse program, treatment of child sexual abuse within a comprehensive service model, the Marymound model: a sequential approach to the treatment of male adolescent sexual offenders and sexual abuse victims, the integrated treatment model for sexually abused children and their mothers, and the Family Sexual Abuse Treatment Program.
