'What makes CFS Unravelled unique is that it breaks through the noise of the huge range of symptoms and dysfunctions and focusses you on the underlying dynamics that the medical research communities have wrestled with for many decades. Understanding this is key for you to regain your health!?Professor Kati Thieme, PhD ?recipient of the 2008 International Award for Fibromyalgia Research? You get sick and all you want is to get your health back. But so many of us that experience ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, POTS or other variations of this syndrome can't even get their illness acknowledged as real, let alone treated effectively. With countless books having been written about treating the dysfunctions and symptoms of this syndrome, you have to ask yourself; WHY haven't they worked for you?Why do some approaches and treatments seem to work for some individuals and not others? Why do people get the illness in such different ways? Why do people experience so many different symptoms? Is a full and lasting recovery even possible?CFS Unravelled answers these important questions by delving deeper into the pathogenesis of the illness that connects the different symptoms and dysfunctions that you experience. This comprehensive understanding allows you to tailor a path to recovery that allows your body to return to health naturally, as opposed to trying to fix every system and symptom that you are experiencing.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a common condition that can last for many years. It is a debilitating chronic illness which ruins lives. Every waking moment becomes a physical, emotional and cognitive struggle just to function on the most basic of levels. The purpose of this book is to reassure sufferers and their families that recovery is possible and that the illness is genuine. It draws on the experiences of many sufferers of chronic fatigue and on those of the author herself. Dr Kristina Downing-Orr, a clinical psychologist, suffered severe chronic fatigue symptoms and was compelled to research the cause of CFS and the cure herself because she was offered so little help by the medical profession. Her recovery was quick and lasting. In her book, Kristina reveals the causes of chronic fatigue and offers an accessible, scientifically valid, easy-to-achieve programme that will inspire people with CFS to regain their health and restore their energy and vitality. Chapters cover Kristina's own story, what chronic fatigue really is, what causes it, diagnosis, a step-by-step self-treatment programme, how to strengthen the body, and coping with stress and resources.

Recovery from CFS - 50 Personal Stories is a simple collection of recovery stories from people who have recovered from CFS/ME. Men, women and children from six different countries who were all diagnosed with CFS/ME and who were ill for between 2 and 25 years, have written their own individual and very different accounts of their return to good health and a normal life. At the end of each account they have offered advice, suggested helpful books and websites, and many have even given contact details for readers needing support. The foreword is written by Dr Jacob Teitelbaum, Medical Director of the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers, Inc. USA. Dr Teitelbaum had CFS himself as a medical student and is one of the world's foremost experts in CFS. Two of the stories are written by doctors, including that of Dr Clare Fleming who edited two reports from the UK National Task Force and who contributed to the Action for ME rehabilitation courses. There is also the miraculous story of canoeist Anna Hemmings who returned to win the world championship Gold medal nine months after recovering from CFS. 20% of the book proceeds go to CFS/ME research

Exercises and strategies for long-term emotional well-being in the face of physical difficulties. Why are we seeing growing numbers of people suffering from debilitating chronic symptoms of pain, fatigue, inflammation and cognitive impairment that medicine is failing to resolve? A new paradigm is needed where we understand the mind and body as an interconnected flowing system. This paradigm embraces the self-healing, self-correcting, and self-creating natures of our connected mind-body system. Physical symptoms are simply a sign of disharmony and energetic imbalance, a “tap on the shoulder” from our intelligent body that is trying to get our attention. This “tap” on the shoulder can become debilitating symptoms over time. When we pay attention, and understand this communication, we can take the steps to facilitate our own self-healing. This book explains the origins of chronic symptoms and outlines the road to recovery. Readers are offered life-changing principles and practices to regain harmony in their lives and bodies, whether they suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, adrenal fatigue, trauma, depression, or anxiety. It explains how we can learn to heal ourselves from the inside out by reconceptualizing the relationships among our bodies, minds, and emotions, embracing the full importance of the mind-body connection, and tapping our natural restorative capacities. Here, readers will find ways to maximize the connections between optimum health, peace of mind, and fulfilling life experiences, all emerging when we are aligned with our “true self.”

Chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia have severe and sometimes disabling symptoms, yet the affected patient looks well. In this book a mechanism is presented arguing that these illnesses are defined by decreased cellular energy production. This is not a book that describes the signs and symptoms of the illnesses; it is a book that explores mechanisms that lie beneath the complex symptom patterns. Dr. David Bell is a well recognized expert in chronic fatigue syndrome. He is the author of several books and was chairman of the Department of Health and Human Services Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Advisory Committee.
