The search for Ceres' hagoromo or "celestial robes" brings the action back to Tokyo--to Miyagi, specifically, where rumors of a spectral white dog ("figuring in the celestial legend!," says Suzumi) prompt a transfer to girls-only high school for Aya, Chidori, and...Yûhi?! Connected to the dog's increasingly frequent attacks is a sweet and popular girl named Maya Hirobe, but why--and more importantly, how--is she involved? Sweet Sixteen and Never Been Kissed Aya and her twin brother Aki thought they were going to a celebration of their sixteenth birthday at their grandfather's home, but the funeral-like atmosphere tips them off that something's not right. Their "birthday present" turns out to be a mummified hand--the power of which forces an awakening within Aya, and painful wounds all over Aki's body! Grandfather Mikage announces that Aki will be heir to the Mikage fortune, and Aya must die! But Aya has allies in the athletic cook and martial artist Yûhi, and the attractive, mysterious Tôya. Shocked to learn (from Aki, of all people!) that the entire "Tôya Mizuki" personality is false--a fiction, a cipher without a past of any kind--Tôya struggles to find his own identity. Aki--or, should we say, the "Progenitor"--is on campus and making Aya's life hell. And then there's a kind of actual hell itself, in the form of a beneath-school passageway, where a...creature...is said to roam. Is there any truth to Aki's claim that the monster is the daughter of a priest who made the grave error of angering a celestial maiden or "ten'nyo" hundreds of years ago...?
