On the surface Logan Wilde is all good-old-boy charm and humor. Even though he’s cleaned up his act and turned into an upstanding business owner, he can't seem to outrun his hell-raising reputation. When a straightlaced executive with long legs and high heels rolls into town to lure him to the big city, he’s tempted to get a little wild—and bring her along on the ride. Three rules govern Jessica Montgomery’s life—stay calm, stay professional, stay in control. Her dream job of CFO of the family business is within reach—if she can convince one sexy, stubborn Alabama restaurateur that his dream job is managing their flagship restaurant in Atlanta. Desperate to convince Logan to sign on the dotted line, Jessica is forced out of her comfort zone and into Logan’s world of serene forests, high school football, and a close-knit small town. While she can’t quite close the deal, a new offer is on the table that includes steamy nights in Logan’s bed (and other places) and the possibility of a lasting love—if Jessica is brave enough to chase a new dream. Warning: Contains explosive chemistry, lots of laughs, and a leap into the crazy unknown. Opposites attract when a former bad boy with a heart of gold meets a straightlaced woman with passion to spare in this sexy addition to the small town Sweet Home Alabama series.

“A fun cast of supporting characters, including bickering brothers, a newly adopted teenager, [and] a guide dog, add zest to this enjoyable romance.”—Publishers Weekly The Monroe brothers have their differences, but one project unites them: turning an antebellum mansion in their Haven, Georgia, hometown into a peaceful spa. It was the dream of their late sister—and it’s about to set off a major renovation in the life of middle brother Braxton. . . Braxton Monroe’s taking a break from teaching to do some strenuous work on a Civil War–era house, and feeling the strain in every rock-hard muscle. Good thing he has to interview massage therapists for the spa—even if it’s embarrassing to meet a job candidate in his boxers. Cora Buchanan has hands so talented—and a voice so sultry—he wants to hire her before he even lifts his head from the table. But he’s shocked to meet her outside the massage room—with her seeing-eye dog, Heidi the yellow lab. Cora has left her family—and fiancé—in Atlanta to make her way in this small town. All her parents’ money can’t restore her sight, but it’s up to her to restore her independence. Though she bristles at Braxton’s protectiveness, she too feels lingering effects from their intimate touch. Now that he’s her boss, it’s strictly hands-off. . . .Until a secret she’s keeping destroys his fragile trust, and they must find the courage to knock down the walls between them. David Barnett’s 1977 shooting death outside Cooper, Kentucky, has haunted the small town’s former star athlete, Sheriff Tanner “Touch” Thomas, for decades. When he knocks David’s cold case file off a pile of paperwork on his desk, Touch bends over to retrieve it and sees handwritten notes peeking out of the file that spark him to revisit the death. Yet without a single piece of physical evidence materializing in at least thirty years, it appears the sheriff has his job cut out for him. As Touch begins to unravel the tangled web of details around Barnett’s shooting, he discovers links to a long-running drug ring in Cooper tied to the Dixie Mafia. After he decides to partner with the FBI to bust the drug ring, the choice both helps Touch and places him in extreme danger. Now the sheriff must blend his compassion and affection for his small town with his action hero-like abilities in order to take down Cooper’s biggest drug dealers and hopefully solve the town’s longest running cold case in the process. In this compelling mystery, a Kentucky sheriff reopens a decades-old murder case that prompts a determined mission to bring down a local drug ring.

Since the Renaissance, at least, the medium of sculpture has been associated explicitly with the sense of touch. Sculptors, philosophers and art historians have all linked the two, often in strikingly different ways. In spite of this long running interest in touch and tactility, it is vision and visuality which have tended to dominate art historical research in recent decades. This book introduces a new impetus to the discussion of the relationship between touch and sculpture by setting up a dialogue between art historians and individuals with fresh insights who are working in disciplines beyond art history. The collection brings together a rich and diverse set of approaches, with essays tackling subjects from prehistoric figurines to the work of contemporary artists, from pre-modern ideas about the physiology of touch to tactile interaction in the museum environment, and from the phenomenology of touch in recent philosophy to the experimental findings of scientific study. It is the first volume on this subject to take such a broad approach and, as such, seeks to set the agenda for future research and collaboration in this area.
