Magic City Kitties was formed by Lindsay Ellinas in 2015 as a Facebook group about cats. We are friends and neighbors, past and present, of the "Magic City", Birmingham, Alabama.Our goals as a community include raising awareness and supporting the needs of Community Cats, our local rescue and shelter organizations, and our member pet owners. To achieve these goals we provide a forum for discussion, seek experts in their field to help us educate, and we partner with shelter and rescue groups to provide much needed volunteers and financial support.This book, wonderfully illustrated by our member artist Hilary Callais, serves to raise awareness of Magic City Kitties and our programs. It features member cats in a coloring book format. A portion of the profits will benefit the continuation of our programs in the Magic City.

When this book first came to my mind it came as a history and theory of the building of Magic Cities on tables, with bricks and toys and little things such as a child may find and use. But as I kept the thought by me it grew and changed, as thoughts will do, until at last it took shape as an attempt to contribute something, however small and unworthy, to the science of building a magic city in the soul of a child, a city built of all things pure and fine and beautiful. As you read, it will, I hope, seem to you that something of what I say is true—in much, no doubt, it will seem to you that I am mistaken; but however you may disagree with me, you will, I trust, at least have faith in the honesty of my purpose. If I seem to you to be too dogmatic, to lay down the law too much as though I were the teacher and you the learner, I beg you to believe that it is in no such spirit that I have written. Hurled into the time flow by a banishing spell, 13th century Edmund lands into the USA, 2007, in answer to Leonas fervent prayers for help to save her town. Leo, Leonas adoptive son, and his friends, Squirrel and Raccoon, accept the magic with enthusiasm and do their best to help the town to survive. When misfortune strikes, Leona gives her blessing for Edmund to use his magic.
