Throughout his childhood and adolescence Willie Maddison has always felt himself to be a misfit. He has never known a mother's love nor felt any affection from a father who blames his son for his wife's death in child-birth. The outbreak of war in 1914 gives him the chance to escape the suffocating constraints of his home life and he enlists in the army. It is in the trenches that at last he finds comradeship and a sense of purpose and experiences events that will change his life forever. On Christmas Eve, 1914 a spontaneous truce breaks out along a number of sectors of the front. The guns fall silent and carols can be heard coming from the German trenches. After a time, men from the opposing armies begin to venture forth into No Man's Land. The opportunity is taken to bury the dead and joint services are held. On Christmas day, celebrations are shared, gifts exchanged and games played. Willie is shocked to learn that the German soldiers also believe God to be on their side and realises that were it up to the ordinary soldier the killing would never start again. Commissioned, decorated and eventually demobilised, Willie Maddison finds it difficult to adjust to civilian life and, after a disastrous love-affair, retreats to a derelict cottage on the North Devon coast to make a start on the book that has been burning in him since that fateful Christmas Day and which he hopes will help prevent the pointless sacrifice of another generation. It is not long before his unconventional behaviour and what are judged to be dangerously radical ideas are seen by the 'local establishment' as a threat to good order and when he forms an attachment to a daughter of one of the oldest families a campaign is mounted to drive him out.

Raven Life has been rough. I mean, after being alive for two and a half centuries, things are bound to happen, I know that. Having said that, not many vampires are forced to put down their own sire. Not every vampire attracts the attention of a death crazed reaper who gets pleasure from the pain he inflicts. Being rescued by my new family is the best thing that could have happened to me. It's taken almost a hundred years, but I'm finally starting to feel free again. All my pain and terror are manageable... until I see him. They say he's different, that I can trust him. I want to believe that. I start to believe that. Then, he shows me who he really is. Ryne I wasn't always a good guy. I'm a reaper. We aren't known for our good behavior. I've spent the past nine hundred years taking those ready to leave this existence and sending them to their next one. And some who weren't ready. Alright. Fine. A lot that weren't ready. But a being can change, right? I think so. I hope so. I have a lot of things to make up for and I'm trying my damnedest to right some wrongs. Finding my mate? I never expected that. Not many reapers are blessed with one. Instead of being happy to find me, my mate runs and after hearing why, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to convince her to trust me. Hell, maybe she's right to be scared because the hunters are back and I'm about to unleash the worst version of myself on the world to keep her safe...

Fast of the Family Tree By: Bryonna Dyer Four of the highest-powered families around the world are in conflict: the Sylvesters, arctic investors in the highest paying armory dealership; the Mallicks, universal hackers and programmers, are almost impossible to find; the Yeungs, Chinese scientists obsessed with reaching outside the limits of the human brain and body (and taking any measure necessary to achieve their goal); and the Fasts, though small in number, are the most lethal weapon of FAST, Factotum Agency of Solidified Trust. Rivals for power and control, the Yeung family succeeds to manufacture an underground corporation of “the new beginning” for mankind. A stronger, faster, more fearless race of weapons in war. One that could overthrow humanity as a whole. Ten-year-old, Raven Sylvester, born and raised from the Sylvester family line, meets Silica Fast, a mysterious woman who devotes her life to protect her. Never seen without a gun in hand, Raven soon learns Silica is not only an underground agent but family, and maybe the only chance they have at uniting the four power families and ending the reign of the Yeung family name. Family is not defined by blood or position. It is by whom you love, and who loves you. The loyalty, sense of security, and trust people develop with one another.
