This book is a commentary in the form of a journal. It is meant to be something like a diary kept by a tourist or a spy of his travels in a strange land, recording questions and observations and opinions on everything he sees for other travelers on the same road. It could be also called a dialogue because the author records the conversation that he has with Genesis as he moves along, and the conversation he has with himself in the privacy of his motel room. In both ways it is the account of a journey with the idea that it may be of some use to others traveling the same road. The author is writing as an amateur to other amateurs. He is not a professional theologian nor a biblical scholar, and while his intent is to think as deeply and truly as he can, he is not doing so as a professional. There are several advantages that an amateur may have over a professional in a case like this. First the amateur can be much bolder in what he questions and in the answers he considers. The professional always has something on the line, always something at risk, namely his reputation. He cannot venture far off the beaten path without being in some danger of losing his respectability. The amateur, on the other hand, has little respectability to lose and little reputation to risk. What Dr. Boswell would not be able to risk in mathematical writing he can be quite at liberty to risk in this project. It can be exhilarating. Secondly the amateur has a much friendlier connection with the average reader. The amateur is something of an equal with the average reader, though presumably with something to say worth the hearing. Since they are introduced as equals, the reader can feel safer, less threatened, more entitled to join in the conversation that the author is trying to create. With a professional author there is always the sense of obligation that one should not argue back with the scholar; only another scholar has the credentials to join in their conversation, and the rest of us must sort it all out as best we can. But with this book there is no need of restraint; anyone can be drawn in to the discussion, anyone can feel entitled to disagree, with impunity. It can be exhilarating. This book is not meant to be a "Bible made simple" book. It is written by someone who loves to think and is written for others who love to think. It is written by someone who is not timid about difficult questions and is written for others who have no fear of such things. But most of all it is a book written for the pure joy of the thing and for those who might share that joy.

This book is the first of three in a series focused on an extraordinary adventure as we discover the very heart of prophecy from the beginning as it was set forth in the book of Genesis. The very events which occurred in the first book of the Bible have in fact laid the foundation for all end time prophecy as set forth through later prophets. Without a firm grasp of the prophetic message in the beginning of time, we will build our foundation on sand. After reading In the Beginning, you will never view prophecy the same way again as you will begin to see the unveiling of many mysteries that have been long forgotten. This book serves as a piece of study literature investigating the vast prophetic messages place in the word of God for us to learn. At the end of this book, the reader will gain profound insight into the many spiritual workings rooted in the book of Genesis and how it sets the stage for the Lord's second advent. The aim in our investigation is to spark the reader into taking on a magnificent prophetic journey of their own with the Lord and bless someone else.

Many Christians lack understanding of faith's journey, how God's soldiers are armored, and how to be prepared for spiritual warfare. Little knowledge in this area makes many go into battle unprepared, and they lose fight after fight. God's soldiers are doing spiritual warfare with natural (fleshly) means, which causes them to be beaten and confused, and (as Job) they sit believing that God has forsaken them. This book is not a repeat of Storms Are Faith's Workout: Preparing Christians for Spiritual Ambush. It will build upon the truths in that book to help strengthen God's soldiers to go to battle dressed in the full armor of God. There are no shortcuts to overcoming in this life, and many obstacles must be faced. In the pages of this book, God's soldiers will gain the understanding of how faith works and the necessity for God's armor in facing whatever obstacle the devil has put in their path. When the book is finished, God's soldiers will have confidence in God and in his armor. They will be emboldened to stand firm, confront any obstacle, and overcome it by faith!

The New Believer's Bible commentary is an easy to read study guide designed for people who did not grow up in the church and the people who minister to them. It provides the background information needed to fully understand scripture, and emphasizes what this means in a person's life. In Genesis -Deuteronomy the sacrifices, feasts and laws are explained in a way that makes them easy to understand. Older Christians may enjoy this too, as it is a comfortable reminder of why you believe and a chance to revisit old friends. The book shows people in a very human light that one can relate to and identify with, helping us to understand how we should and should not behave, and what faith truly is.

God is invisible. That's a problem. It was a problem in ancient Egypt and it's still a problem today. In a world where people tend to worship what they can see and feel and taste and touch, an invisible God is all too easy to ignore. That's why we need Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy to show us God's glorious master plan to be seen through his People. A series of devotional commentaries, which allow people to get to grips with each book of the Bible one bite at a time. Phil Moore will not cover the whole of each book, but rather focuses on key sections which together form a useful introduction. There will be 25 volumes in all: each contains about 60 readings, but this may vary from book to book. Although the tone is light, the text is full of useful application and backed by substantial scholarship.
