Excerpt from Bulletin of the British Ornithologists' Club, Vol. 16 The Meetings of: the British Ornithologists' Club held during the 14th Session have all been unusually well attended, the largest number of Members and Visitors on one evening being 73, and the total number during the Session amounting to no less than 385, giving an average of nearly 43 per Meeting. There has been no falling off either in the number, or in the interest of, the communications; on the contrary these seem to have increased. Excerpt from Bulletin of the British Ornithologists Club, Vol. 31 The number of attendances at the Meetings of the British Ornithologists' Club during the 21st Session, 1912-1913, was 401 (this included 328 Members and 73 Visitors), showing an average of nearly 45 per meeting, as against 52 in the previous Session. The falling off in numbers was no doubt due to the fact that no exhibition of Lanteru-slides took place in March. It is with very deep regret that we have to record the death of our Chairman, Dr. P. L. Sclater, who had occupied that position since the commencement of the Club in October 1892. At the last meeting of the Session he was too ill to be present and receive the testimonial and piece of plate which were to have been presented to him in recognition of his long and valuable services. He will be sadly missed by the Members of the Club. Other well-known and much lamented members who passed away during the Session were the veteran zoologist Mr. W. B. Tegetmeier, Mr, Henry J. Pearson, at one time a Vice-Chairman and until lately a regular attendant of the meetings, and Dr. Edward A. Wilson, whose loss is specially deplored. The interest attaching to the meetings of the Club has been well maintained during the Session, and many new and rare species of Birds have been exhibited for the first time. Excerpt from Bulletin of the British Ornithologists' Club, Vol. 1: Session 1892-3 The British Ornithologists' Club was founded in October, 1892, for the purpose of giving the Members of the British Ornithologists' Union an Opportunity for meeting more frequently than the customary once a year. The popularity of the Club has been demonstrated by the fact that, during its first season, its ranks have been joined by 84 Members of the B. O. U. Excerpt from Bulletin of the British Ornithologists' Club, Vol. 27: Session 1910 1911 The number of attendances at the Meetings of the British Ornithologists Club during the 19th Session, 1910-1911, was 396 (this included 318 Members and 78 Visitors), showing an average of 44 per Meeting, a number which agrees exactly with that of the previous Session. By the death of Captain G. E. Shelley the Club has lost a valued and popular Member, whose well-known works and papers on the Birds of Africa have added so much to the present state of our knowledge. The present volume contains descriptions of a large number of new species and subspecies of birds, including most of those discovered by the B. O. U. Expedition to Dutch New Guinea. Important communications on Australian birds have been received from Mr. G. M. Mathews, on African birds from Mr. G. L. Bates, Dr. E. Hartert and Mr. E. J. Jackson, and on South American birds from Mr. Hellmayr and others. Many interesting questions on changes of plumage, &c. have been discussed at the various Meetings. Among the novelties described during 1910-11 we must not omit to mention the three new forms of Irish birds, one of which, the Irish Coal-Titmouse, is described in this volume. The exhibition of Lantern-slides which was held at the March Meeting was better than on the previous occasion.
