Deer hunting continues to be the number-one type of hunting in NorthAmerica, and it's easy to understand why. Unlike other big-game animals that have declined in population due to man's development of wild lands, the whitetail has thrived. In fact, some of the largest bucks in the record books were taken in small woodlots near major cities. Hunting Record Book Bucks focuses on the advanced strategies of the top whitetail deer experts in North America. More than a dozen well-known trophy hunters contributed to this book, including Toby Bridges, Gary Clancy, Mark Drury, Peter Fiduccia, David Hale, Brad Harris, Harold Knight, Jim Shockey, and Bill Jordan, producer and star of the popular TV series, "Bill Jordan's Realtree Outdoors."

In his latest book, ‘Promise to Pay (Vol. I): Banks, Battles, and Bellies,’ Masood Rezvi lays bare the threads connecting banks to the funding of wars and the hunger so prevalent in large pockets of the population around the world. Unlike his earlier book “Tightening Noose of Poverty” where he draws mainly on his personal experience in rural banking in India, the current title tells a story spanning over four centuries of wars, famines, and banking intertwined in a meshwork of socio-economics. The narrative is supported by meticulously collected data from a diverse cross-section of sources. He convincingly argues that ‘banks and their power to create money out of thin air’ lie at the heart of major global issues. In this first volume, he lays the foundation of a larger narrative presenting a mechanism, not so hidden in the plain sight, of how the global financial market has been fueling major crises that the world is grappling today. From the funding of the British Raj of the pre-World War India by the Bank of England to the rise of the Federal Reserve, the author presents a picture of a roller-coaster ride the banks have been taking the world on. He steers clear through the mind-boggling cliché of the mainstream narrative of the current financial world order and puts the reader in charge by putting things in perspective. History is where the mold of the present is created, and Masood Rezvi has done his job well in describing that mold to make sense of the present. While the book has all the technical details necessary to navigate through the labyrinths of the financial system, the author has been extremely careful to present them in a manner comprehensible for a non-expert reader. The experts, on the other hand, will find the narrative refreshing in its approach, technical precision, and conclusions. This book is another step towards dissecting the mechanism of the current financial system that has created a divide between the rich and the poor, a gap too wide to be filled with just the promises to pay.

A dark and captivating new take on the beloved Nutcracker story, Z. R. Ellor's YA fantasy debut, No Better Than Beasts, is a perfect standalone novel for fans of folklore, cursed kingdoms, fraught romance, and fairy tales with sharp teeth. Nabik, a soldier, owes his loyalty to his elder brother Fydir, who lifted him and their sister, Drakne, from poverty. But when Fydir orders him to quell unrest among the city’s beastfolk, the magic Nabik had long buried begins to stir. A wintery voice urges Nabik to desert his post—and his brother’s watchful eye —to journey north into Kolznechia, a frozen, enchanted kingdom ruled by the mercurial Rat King. His power may hold the key to breaking an ancient curse and ending the Rat King’s terrible reign. Drakne will do whatever it takes to break free of Fydir. As Nabik follows all of their eldest brother’s commands, her best hope of escaping is to seek the protection of the Rat King. And the tyrant king has been looking for Drakne too. She has a gift that can help him find and kill the missing nutcracker prince, rightful heir to his stolen throne. When the nutcracker prince emerges, Nabik and Drakne take opposite sides of a centuries-old conflict—him to save a kingdom, her to save herself. Then Fydir marches into the growing war, hungry to claim power of his own, and if Nabik and Drakne can’t fix their broken bond, Kolznechia may be torn apart by tooth and claw...

A novel of love, forgiveness, and the unbreakable bonds of family from award-nominated author Marin Thomas . . . When it comes to family, Ruby Baxter hasn’t had much luck. The important men in her early life abandoned her, and any time a decent boyfriend came along, she ran away. But now Ruby is thirty-one and convinced she is failing her teenage daughter. Mia is the one good thing in her life, and Ruby hopes a move to Kansas will fix what’s broken between them. But the road to redemption takes a detour. Hank McArthur, the biological father Ruby never knew existed, would like her to claim her inheritance: a dusty oil ranch just outside of Unforgiven, Oklahoma. As far as first impressions go, the gruff, emotionally distant rancher isn’t what Ruby has hoped for in a father. Yet Hank seems to have a gift for rehabilitating abused horses—and for reaching Mia. And if Ruby wants to entertain the possibility of a relationship with Joe Dawson, the ranch foreman, she must find a way to open her heart to the very first man who left her behind.
