This collection contains an account book recording land transactions made by the Eastern Railroad and the Boston and Maine Railroad from 1836 to 1894 throughout Massachusetts, including Chelsea, Everett, Lynn, Revere, Saugus, Swampscott, Salem, Beverly, Rowley, Hamilton, Wenham, Ipswich, Newbury, Newburyport, and Salisbury. Entries include the seller's names, the bounds of the parcel, the price paid, and the date.
