The next consideration is the colours, for the painting is to be in what is termed distemper. The colours are purchased in a dry state at the oil shop, and will readily mix with a little size and water, and those most useful for ordinary work are as follows - Chrome yellow, rose pink, flake white, Venetian red, orange chrome, sepia, wet blue, and Brunswick green.
