This is a story about a warrior of the People, the Dakota nation. After extensive research, Gary Dallmann chose to write a story that recounts the exploits of White Fox, a warrior who was elevated to chief of the Dakota nation at the young age of twenty eight. As chief, he faced many challenges. This kind, intelligent man proved to be the right choice since he had the welfare of his people paramount in his mind. This is also a gripping tale of misplaced revenge against White Fox by Broken Face, a fierce warrior of the Tree People. His obsession ended the lives of many warriors. Worry over a demented enemy would have been sufficient to age a seasoned chief but to make things worse White Fox's spirit helper sent a message warning him of a dangerous and seemingly demonic pack of wolves invading the Dakota hunting grounds. The wolves were killing indiscriminately and their evil sport was not restricted to animals.

Fox World, based on true events, takes the reader under the canopy of an urban forest on the outskirts of Washington, D.C. for a year-long walk with a weary sales executive and his muse, a wild red fox. Aged, ill and injured, both fox and man seek healing in their journey, not only for themselves, but for the ecologically stressed forest which is under siege. In 1623 a team of stationers published what has become the most famous volume in English literary history: William Shakespeare's First Folio. Who were these publishers and how might their stories be bound up with those found within the book they created? Ben Higgins offers a radical new account of the First Folio by focusing on these four publishing businesses that made the volume. By moving between close scrutiny of the Folio publishers and a wider view of their significance within the early modern book trade, Higgins uses Shakespeare's stationers to explore the 'literariness' of the Folio; to ask how stationers have shaped textual authority; to argue for the interpretive potential of the 'minor' Shakespearean bookseller; and to examine the topography of Shakespearean publication. Drawing on a host of fresh primary evidence from a wide range of sources, including court records, manuscript letters, bookseller's bills, and the literature itself, Shakespeare's Syndicate illuminates our understanding of how this landmark volume was made and what it has meant to scholars since. Moreover, it models exciting new ways of working with stationers and of reading the event of early modern publication itself.
