A series of blind architect images produced by Alexander Pilis with three texts by Ihor Holubizky, Juan Antonio Montiel and Jeanne Randolph. The book is a critical analysis of contemporary visuality.

An exhibition at McMaster Museum of Art. Alexander was invited to research the museum's collection and device an exhibition generated by his previous film "The Blind Architect meets Rembrandt". A series of works chosen from the museum's collection; paintings, drawings, sculptures, engravings, photographs and constructs created an active engaging walk.

How can we develop a scientific basis for architectural, urban and technical design? When can a design be labelled as scientific output, comparable with a scientific report? What are the similarities and dis-similarities between design and empirical research, and between design research, typological research, design study and study by design? Is there a need for a particular methodology for design driven study and research? With these questions in mind, more than forty members of the Faculty of Architecture of the Delft University of Technology have described their ways of study and research. Each chapter shows the objectives, the methodology and its implementation in search for a deeper knowledge of design processes and an optimal quality of the design itself. The authors - among them architects, urban planners, social scientists, lawyers, technicians and information scientists – have widely differing backgrounds. Nevertheless, they share a great deal. The central focus is a better understanding of design processes, design tools and the effects of design interventions on issues such as utility, aesthetics meaning, sustainability and feasibility.

Architecture Parallax: The Sao Paulo Maddest About You book was curated and edited by Alexander Pilis. Since 1987 Alexander assembled especially solicited articles, hybrid architecture, art construct and urban theory exploring the unusual metropolitan condition of Sao Paulo. The first edition was published in 2006 with an installation curated by Ivo Mesquita at the Pinacoteca do Estado de Sao Paulo. 38 distinct contributors reflected and developed opinions and issues regarding the mad metropolis of Sao Paulo; Agnaldo Farias, Antoni Abad, Aziz Ab'Saber, Cristiano Mascaro, Dietmar Kamper, Guto Lacaz, Horacio Costa, Hugo Segawa, Ihor Holubizky, Israel D.
