Se trazan las líneas principales para la elaboración del proyecto informativo público en línea de la biblioteca. En el contexto de la sociedad de la información, la biblioteca debe enfocarse conceptualmente como una Biblioteca Híbrida, donde se produce una constante evolución tecnológica y una convivencia entre información en múltiples sistemas de acceso, en la que lo digital tiende a adoptar un papel de integración y sustitución. La actual necesidad de disponer de un modelo de referencia para la evolución tecnológica del proyecto informativo de la biblioteca, partiendo desde un modelo de biblioteca automatizada orientado en exceso hacia los procesos técnicos internos, y la actual situación de complejidad y dispersión de los elementos tecnológicos implicados en la biblioteca (Sistemas de Gestión Bibliotecaria, Redes locales, Opacs, Ofimática, Bases de datos relacionales, Webs, Aplicaciones específicas de proceso, etc.) pasa por una revisión del concepto de automatización de bibliotecas, el cual, según nuestra propuesta, debe considerarse desde el punto de vista interno (procesos técnicos) como una herramienta de groupware y flujo de trabajo, y desde el punto de vista externo (información al usuario) como un portal Internet y una comunidad virtual.

Many reports over the last few years have analysed the potential use of games, videogames, 3D environments and virtual reality for educational purposes. Numerous emerging technological devices have also appeared that will play important roles in the development of teaching and learning processes. In the context of these developments, learning rather than teaching becomes the main axis in the organisation of the educational process. This process has now gone beyond the analogue world and face-toface education to enter the digital world, where new learning environments are being produced with ever greater doses of realism. Beth Simone Noveck draws on her experience in creating Peer-to-Patent, the federal government's first social networking initiative, to show how technology can connect the expertise of the many to the power of the few. In the process, she reveals what it takes to innovate in government. Launched in 2007, Peer-to-Patent connects patent examiners to volunteer scientists and technologists via the web. These dedicated but overtaxed officials decide which of the million-plus patent applications currently in the pipeline to approve. This book relies on the conceptual model of Open Government (OG), focusing on transparency and, concretely, in open data initiatives at the local government context with the aim of improving participation and collaboration. Most Open Government models are centered on three pillars: transparency, participation and collaboration. Transparency is a crucial ingredient of OG and, applied to data openness means to ensure that the data are well known, comprehensible, easily accessible and open to all. new governance models based on different open data models have not been proposed up to now. The chapter authors seek to contribute recent research to the discussion on governance models of open data initiatives to support Open Governments with the aim of creating public value. It includes both theoretical and empirical studies on governments models in open data initiatives.

What are European archaeologists doing abroad? What have they been doing there for the past three to four centuries? Are they doing things differently nowadays? To address these questions, this book explores the scope, impact and ethics of European archaeological policies and practices in the Mediterranean area, the Near East, sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Latin America. Acknowledging that international and transcultural projects have a range of different stakeholders, the first part of this book aims to identify some of the values and motivations behind different European archaeologies abroad. This is done by providing thorough historical overviews on a range of European countries, including France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland. But how are these values translated, through socio-political, theoretical and administrative frameworks, unto local circumstances in host countries? And how are these archaeological activities received locally? The second part of this book attempts to answer these questions through a range of historical and contemporary case studies, in Africa, in Asia, in South America, in the Near East and in Europe. The third part of the book offers several critical reflections on European values, motivations and collaboration projects, as perceived by archaeological heritage professionals based in, and/or working in Senegal, Sudan, Somaliland, Colombia, and the Near East. This collection of historical overviews, contemporary case studies and critical reflections focuses on the challenging relationships between archaeological practices and policies, including the requirements and wishes of archaeologists, of local communities and of other stakeholders in Europe and in the host countries. In addition to researchers and students, this book should be of interest to practicing archaeologists, heritage professionals and policy makers the world over, as they seek to reach better informed decisions regarding archaeological projects and international collaboration.
