Summaries are given of the objectives and progress of a broad spectrum of basic studies on the chemical, physical, electrical, and engineering properties of materials. Each project summary is accompanied by a list of publications generated as a result of that project.

Presented are the summaries of the 1968/1969 research efforts of the individual Members of the Materials Science Center. Where appropriate, a Member's total research program is subdivided into separate research projects, which form distinct units characterized by specific titles. These summaries contain the names of the research associates and research assistants associated with each Member, as well as a list of reports, publications and theses submitted for Ph. D. or M.S. degrees during 1968/1969. (Author).
