The archives' mandate is to acquire and conserve both public and private historical records of national significance, make them accessible in conformity with existing legislation, and provide federal departments and agencies with advisory and operational services related to records management. This report features a report from the National archivist, and discusses the archives' activities in acquiring, housing and conserving the collections.
