Hart, State Tax Commissioner of Georgia, for the Year, 1917 Opponents of the Equalization Tax Act have criti cised the Act as not reaching invisible property, and as falling too heavily upon real estate. The re turns this year show an increase over last of $32, and while the return of real estate of this over last year shows an increase of money, notes and chose's in action show an increase of over last year. The return of merchandise shows an increase of This return for this year, the largest in the history of the State except the first year following the pas sage of the Equalization Tax Act, shows that the Local Boards of Assessors are becoming more ex pert, resulting in better assessment and equalization of property.
