James Chapman Johnston, Sr. (1875-1927), son of Robert Johnston (1818- 1885) and Laura Ellen Criss, married Althea Elmerta Loose in 1911 at Manassas, Virginia. Descendants lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri and elsewhere. Ancestors lived in Virginia, New York, New England and elsewhere.
