Annual compilation of data covering financial details and population; food industry; selected census data; international trade; field crops; fruit, vegetables, and specialty crops; livestock and poultry; and dairy. Data are derived from telephone, mail-in and enumerative surveys of farmers for agricultural production; the 5-year census of agriculture, particularly those areas dealing with livestock inventory and crop area estimates; and administrative data, consisting of complete or nearly complete counts of imports, exports, and marketings of inspected or controlled commodities. Most data compares the current and previous years, but some historical information is given. Data is given for the province and Canada, and international trade data includes the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Community, Latin America, and Japan.

Data on farm income and prices, livestock, dairy, poultry, field crops, fruits and vegetables, greenhouse operations, beekeeping, maple products, fur industry, fertilizer and limestone sales, and freight assisted shipments by type of grain. Most data is for current year and two previous years and is compiled from Statistics Canada sources.

Data on population and land area, farm capital values, farm operatng expenses and depreciation, income of farm operators, estimated farm cash receipts, field crops production and estimated value of principal crops, honey production, livestock numbers on farms and slaughterings, livestock prices, estimates of out-of-province shipments, and export estimates. Some comparison to previous year is included.

Compilation of data, covering highlights of the year, with more detailed information on field crops, livestock, cattle, hogs, sheep, horses, dairy, poultry and eggs, apiculture, fur farming, exports, census and comparative data, food, beverage and farm structure characteristics. The major source of the data was Statistics Canada and is based on estimates derived from sample data.
