If the decisive moment reflects reality in tune with the photographer's intuition, flawlessly combining composition and timing, then the abandoned moment is the consequence of a fractional instant of surrender. This collection, made over a 40-year period, reveals imprecise glimpses of transitory events filled with frenetic energy - the chaos of everyday life. Embodying photography's intrinsic power, they preserve moments that can never occur again in exactly the same time and space. When geometry, mood, and possibility unite to unintentionally create something new, the magical and fictional qualities of still photography capture the unplanned essence of existence. In contrast to my journalistic approach of deep personal connection and keen observation, this work is about capturing the untamed energy of a moment with abandon.

Ann Davis has suffered with major depression most of her life. She attempted suicide twice before the age of 30. Because she was abandoned as a toddler, and experienced verbal and physical abuse from her new family, she spent most of her life seeking the love she craved. This book is about how she suffered from the effects of abandonment, and rejection, and how her relationship with God has rescued her from their pain. The stories of her life are many and diverse, including sexual and physical abuse, failed marriages, suicide attempts, relationship issues, life transitions, and spiritual deliverance. You will see how God can rescue you from your self pity, and demonic oppression, and bring you into a life of peace and thanksgiving.

Though he's spent nearly 40 years in the spotlight, Bob Dylan remains one of our most enigmatic and reclusive public figures. As the 20th Century's most influential songwriter, dozens of books have been written about him, primarily biographies, lyric analysis, and reference materials. Encounters with Bob Dylan is the first to examine his life and career from his fans' perspective. Included are 50 first-person accounts of fans who have had a close encounter (usually face-to-face) with him. The contributors come from around the world, and some even have recognizable names, such as mandolinist David Grisman, journalist Nat Hentoff, Hall-of-Fame pitcher Jim "Catfish" Hunter, tapper Kurtis Blow, and noted groupie/author Pamela Des Barres. The common link is a love and appreciation for the words and music of Bob Dylan and his impact on modem culture. Collectively, their stories provide compelling, sometimes amusing, insight into Dylan and his long and complicated relationship with his legion of devoted admirers. The stories are presented chronologically, beginning in 1956 with Margaret Stark's account of her high school date with Bobby Zimmerman and their subsequent meeting at Bob's 10-year Hibbing High School reunion. Along the way, you'll hear from fans like Marc Silber, who met Bob in 1962 and arranged for his appearance at the University of Michigan Folk Festival, and Timothy Chisholm, who was invited to meet Bob after a show because of his enthusiastic front-row response to Dylan's performance. Due to the constantly changing circumstances of the encounters, each story is unique in character and impact.

Lifes Fight, Loves Might is a controversial true story about Lorna, a courageous determined Australian woman whose life was ravaged by the betrayal of her family, her employers, the Christian church, the judicial system and sanctioned abuse by the state and federal governments. Lorna stood alone against the world thats until she meets Rod, a surfie who sweeps her off her feet. Unfortunately, their fervent love also feels the smack of betrayal, which nearly destroys them both, but ultimately they stand united with trust, love and loyalty. When Rod enlists, Lorna becomes an excellent army wife. She learns how to compromise, because the army must come first. She becomes independent and resourceful while her soldier is away, supporting him all the way up the ranks to Warrant Office. Rods postings take Lorna and their two children to Sydney, Papua New Guinea, Canberra and Melbourne. Lorna finds each posting is fraught with its own kind of agony, with Papua New Guinea being the worst of all. She survives unbelievable traumas, which befall her and her family. Then she faces the failures of the Australian Defence Force and the Department of Veterans Affairs. To the Australian people these two systems appear to be functioning at an optimum for the serving members of the ADF, veterans and their families respectively, but it only appears that they are. Lorna also gives accounts of how the leadership within the Christian community believes it is above the law of the land, and how the judicial system aides the churchs betrayal of trust. In the end, Lornas resilience and strength wins through to overcome the impossible, leading her to write this inspiring book.
