The firfi fet, or milk teeth, as they are commonly call ed, as well as fome of the others, are formed in the jaw before birth; but they do not in general appear above the gums till the child is feveral months old. In fome inflances, about the fourth or fifth month, but molt frequently about the eighth or ninth, two of the inci fores appear'in the lower jaw.
