A Short Account of the Destruction of the West Indies is an account written by about the mistreatment of and atrocities committed against the indigenous peoples of the Americas. Bartolomé de las Casas (1544-1550) was a 16th-century Spanish friar, priest, landowner and bishop who is famed as an historian and social reformer.
