"Pharmaceutical Technology: A Practical Manual" discusses the techniques used in manufacturing and evaluation of different dosage forms in simple and easy to understand manner with the support of theory and experiments.

From prescription to production, from usage instructions to procurement and the impact of medicines on the environment, the book provides step-by-step coverage that will help a wide range of readers. It offers product knowledge for all pharmacists working directly with patients and it will enable them to make the appropriate medicine available, to store medicines properly, to adapt medicines if necessary and to dispense medicines with the appropriate information to inform patients and caregivers about product care and how to maintain their quality. This basic knowledge will also be of help to industrial pharmacists to remind and focus them on the application of the medicines manufactured. It has been great pleasure to give pharmacy students our book entitled “A Practical Manual of Pharmaceutics-I” as per the syllabus designed by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi. This book is very useful for First Year B. Pharm. Students of semester-I. This book has been organized into 10 chapters covering different pharmaceutical dosage forms. Also this book is useful for understanding dosage form along with their preparation methods, labeling, packaging and storage conditions in simple languages to fulfill the requirement of students. This book is conceived to reflect the practical aspects of Industrial Pharmacy. The contents of this book are an integral part of the syllabi prescribed by Pharmacy Council of India and Indian universities. This practical book covers whole of the experimental component specified in the syllabus. Authors have made special attempts to cover all aspects ranging from preformulation studies, dosage form design, product manufacturing process and evaluation. This book only discusses relevant information and has been written in simple, straightforward language. The main motivation behind this book was to cover all the important practical aspects of Industrial Pharmacy I under one umbrella at an affordable price to encourage students to read and learn.

This practical book is designed for B. Pharmacy 1st semester students and is strictly as per the Pharmacy Council of India(PCI) regulations. This book aims to deliver fundamental knowledge on the basic pharmacy and with the science of preparing the different conventional dosage forms. It contains questions for internal and semester examinations which will help the students to prepare better for exams.

This practical manual contains 31 exercises covering all topics included in pharmaceutics courses. The content is discussed in very simple language and intense detail. At the end of the manual a few pages have been left blank for notes to be made by students. The page facing every exercise has also been left blank and students can write calculations, methods of preparation in their own language etc. on these pages.

Each chapter provides brief notes on particular dosage forms like introductory information, methods of preparation, therapeutic uses, dose, storage conditions, specific labelling requirement, contraindication (if any), marketed preparations and specimen label.
