These proceedings cover the latest results in Tevatron Collider Physics, LEP results, and results from other High Energy Physics Laboratories. The volume will consist of plenary and parallel contributions on the following subjects: Heavy Quark Physics, Physics Beyond the Standard Model, Astrophysics and Non-Accelerator Physics.

The lectures collected in this book present a comprehensive review of the current knowledge of heavy-quark physics, from the points of view of both theory and experiment. Heavy Flavour Physics has accomplished enormous progress during the last few years: the last heavy quark has been discovered and the quality of the collected data on the other relatively lighter quarks has dramatically improved. On the theory side, noticeable progress has been reported on new calculations of decay rates based on various techniques, such as QCD sum rules, heavy-quark mass expansion and lattice QCD. The theory of heavy quark production is constantly improving and awaiting new results. Nevertheless there are strong reasons to believe that the Standard Model of High Energy Physics is incomplete. It exhibits very peculiar patterns for which it offers no explanation. The basic constituents of matter are arranged into three seemingly identical generations or families of quarks and leptons, differing merely in their masses. The pattern in the fermion masses, why they are families and why there are three of them is not yet understood. Furthermore it is known that at least within the standard model there is an intimate connection between the replication of families and the gateway of CP violation, in addition, the latter phenomenon is a crucial ingredient in explaining why our universe is made up almost exclusively of matter rather than being more or less matter-antimatter symmetric. How and to what extent can Heavy Flavour Physics impact on these questions? Does it offer novel windows onto New Physics beyond the Standard Model in general and onto new symmetries, such as Supersymmetry in particular? These questions constitute the central theme of this book. The material treated in this publication may serve as reference for the segment of the high-energy community actively engaged in heavy-quark physics.

This book offers the first strong evidence of the existence of CP violation in neutral B decays extracted from sophisticated B factories in the US and Japan. It also holds out the expectation of rare B decays and D, K physics in the near future. In addition, new physics beyond the Standard Model is described. Both experimental and theoretical points of view are given.

The book originated in a series of lectures given at Liverpool in 2013 to a group that included postgraduate and undergraduate students and staff of the Physics Department. They followed from two very successful lectures given to the undergraduate Physical Society. It seemed that there was a very large interest among the students in investigating the foundations of physics in a way that was never done in physics courses, and was not available in books or other outlets. However, the idea was to create a framework in which students (and interested staff) could develop their own thinking relative to the ideas in the lectures. So it was important to create both conceptual and mathematical structures on the issues that are important at this level. The book has the right sort of technical content to allow for this development, but doesn't lose itself in excessive details. The ideal use for this book would be on postgraduate courses where students would be encouraged to think about the foundations in a way that is well beyond the superficial. However, a course on aspects of this material would also be valuable at the undergraduate level, where students could be stimulated into believing that creative thinking could solve the problems that emerge when we confront foundational problems.

With the advent of the Superconducting Super Collider and other new technologies, coupled with the development of particle astrophysics and other non-accelerator based physics, research in high energy particle physics in the nineties promises to break into new and exciting frontiers. To chart the directions and opportunities for this new decade, the 1990 Summer Study on High Energy Physics was organized in Snowmass, Colorado. Like previous Snowmass Summer Studies, it plays a key role in shaping research directions and in drawing the particle physics community together.This book of the proceedings examines the full spectrum of important scientific issues and opportunities in high energy particle physics in the decade of the 1990's, including research at existing and anitcipated hadron-hadron, e+e-, and ep colliders; research at fixed-target facilities; the scientific potential of possible new facilities such as B factories; particle astrophysics and non-accelerator based physics; and accelerator and detector initiatives. It also discusses the physics and technical aspects of the initial Superconducting Super Collider experimental program.This volume, therefore, offers a captivating glimpse into the future of high energy physics, and makes essential reading for all physicists interested in assessing the exciting new research opportunities the future technologies would bring.

The II International Workshop on Tau Lepton Physics was held in Ohio, USA in September 1992. Its purpose is to gather the experts on tau lepton physics to examine the current understanding of the tau lepton physics and to assess future prospects. A particular emphasis of the Workshop was a detailed examination of the '1-prong problem': the discrepancy between the inclusive measurement of one-charged-particle decay branching ratio and the sum of the exclusive decays. The Workshop also stimulated new ideas on tests of the Standard Model using the third generation lepton and assessed the future prospects of the lepton physics.

The 28th conference from the Rochester series was the major high energy physics conference in 1996. Volume one contains short reports on new theoretical and experimental results. Volume two consists of the review talks presented in the plenary sessions.
