Charles Clinton (1690-1773) emigrated from Ireland via Dublin along with the Dennistons, McDowells and others. They arrived at Cape Cod and removed to "New Britain", Ulster County in 1729. Descendants and relatives spread into Canada and throughout the United States, including Hawaii.
