Joseph Sedgwick (1697-1765), son of Samuel Sedgwick (1665-1734) and Mary Hopkins (1670-1743), was born in West Hartford, Connecticut. He married Ruth Smith. They had seven children. He died in Tyringham, Massachusetts.
