To meet, as far as it is possible to do, the demands of the school with a full nine months session, as well as the school with a six months session, with a single book, the School History has been so arranged that sections can be omitted without destroying the story as a whole. It is unnecessary to say that. Omissions should not be made unless necessary, but in view of actual difficulties, the text can be shortened to suit the individual school.
