Grab hold to those nerve pills! A Bastard's Refuge II catapults you to a place where the fearful dare not tread; taking you on a riveting journey as it exposes "Pulpit Venom." What is a person to do when he/she is under the leadership of a "Ravenous Wolf" instead of a loving, pastor? Unlike others that merely dance around the issue, this book goes there and blows the wolves out of the water. A true firebrand, Prophetess J. Godley-Ramos puts it down hard - so get ready to say "AMEN" or "OUCH!" Whew! The "Bootleg Shepherds", the "Wolf Clerics" the "Prophet Wannabes" and sadly, even the poor "Slumbering Sheep" are in for a rude awakening. "ABR II" is a crooked pastor's worse nightmare, but it is the answer to prayer for the many who have been wounded by them. No longer will they rape the flock and go free. "Bootlegs" give God's good pastor's a bad name. The church may not be ready for this one, because things will never be the same again-we mean it! "Dagon shall fall down!"

For such a time as this has 'A Bastard's Refuge' been birthed. Coming in like a lion and blazing a trail of its own, 'ABR' goes off the charts, rating a wopping '11.' This book is strong, and is not intended for mere 'church folk' - definitely not for the "weak minded Christian" or for people who cannot 'take it straight.' Ms. Godley refuses to hedge as she calls out the spiritual oppressors of our day. "ABR" will make you laugh, it will make you cry and for many, it will certainly make you angry. 'The wolves' will be tamed; you will be delivered and the Body of Jesus Christ may never be the same again. And we say, to God be the glory! "ABR" courageously confronts the 'wolf clerics', 'the prophet wannabes' and 'the bootleg pastors' who are merely "posing" as concerned shepherds, and have caused many sheep to scatter. "A Bastard's Refuge scores big for the 'underdog and the outcast! Every "believer', will be careful to examine themselves after reading this book.

A highly involved and intriguing look at the book of John, John Calvin interacts with the text in a way that most other commentators of his time have never done. He takes the book of John and reveals its nuances with such ease and intrigue that you cannot help be drawn into the text. He takes comments and notes from other theologians and commentators of his day to give you a clearer picture of the agreements and disputed areas of the John account. Calvin has always been a point of interest to modern theologians and his interpretation of John is a book that should not in any way be ignored.

Calvin produced commentaries on most of the books of the Bible. His commentaries cover the larger part of the Old Testament, and all of the new excepting Second and Third John and the Apocalypse. His commentaries and lectures stand in the front rank of Biblical interpretation. All who take delight in the Holy Scriptures are familiarly acquainted with the writings of The Prophet Isaiah. Every variety of taste finds in them its appropriate gratification. Lofty conceptions, illustrated by splendid imagery, and clothed in language usually copious and flowing, some times abrupt, but always graceful, leave no room for hesitation to pronounce him, with Bishop Lowth, to be "the most sublime and elegant of the Prophets of the Old Testament." He is regarded with peculiar veneration as an honest, fearless, and able messenger of the Most High God, boldly reproving nobles and monarchs, denouncing the judgments of Heaven against all transgressors, and asserting the claims of the Divine law and government above all human authority. In his Prophecies he takes a wide range, surveys those nations which power or wealth or learning or commerce had raised to the highest celebrity in those remote times, and describes their rise and fall, and wonderful revolutions, so eagerly traced lay us in the page of history, as the execution of Jehovah's counsels, and the arrangements of unerring wisdom But chiefly does he pour out rich instruction concerning the Messiah, whose life and sufferings, and death and glorious reign, he delineates so faithfully, and with such thrilling interest, that he has obtained the appellation of "The Evangelical Prophet.

[This is the full commentary on Isaiah 1-66.] For hundreds of years John Calvin's Commentaries have been admired and relied upon for their deep insights into Scripture. Charles Spurgeon told his students, "It would not be possible for me too earnestly to press upon you the importance of reading the expositions of that prince among men, John Calvin! Of all commentators I believe John Calvin to be the most candid. He was no trimmer and pruner of texts. He gave their meaning as far as he knew it. His honest intention was to translate the Hebrew and the Greek originals as accurately as he possibly could, and then to give the meaning which would naturally be conveyed by such Greek and Hebrew words: he laboured, in fact, to declare, not his own mind upon the Spirit's words, but the mind of the Spirit as couched in those words." And even Arminius himself admitted, "Next to the perusal of the Scriptures, which I earnestly inculcate, I exhort my pupils to peruse Calvin's commentaries, for I affirm that he excels beyond comparison in the interpretation of Scripture, and that his commentaries ought to be more highly valued than all that is handed down to us by the Library of the Fathers; so that I acknowledge him to have possessed above most others, or rather above all other men, what may be called an eminent gift of prophecy."
