This is a combination book, containing the 1830, 1840, and 1850 census records for Lawrence County, AR. Each record is listed, along with it's index, separately. The microfilm is read to the best of the recorder's ability therefore, there is always a chance mistakes. Some name listings are spelled strangely. For example in 1850, Joseph was almost always spelled Josaph and Catherine, whether spelled with a C or a K, was spelled Catharine. There were several instances where it was not possible to read positively what a name was. There are ???s to indicate questionable reading. Also, both the 1830 and 1840 censuses only name the head of household, whether it be male or female. Everyone is listed by age (in general terms) and by gender.
