The trip into the Sahara was more dangerous and life threatening than our other trips. However, it would not have been possible without our self- contained VW Camper. Seeing the unique wildlife in the Sahara was a strong incentive. Frequently the only road markers were barrels and most of them were covered with blown sand. We traveled in convoy with three German students in the required areas. They were a little wild and left us in their dust. We needed our compass to navigate. At one point the Germans went over a bank and lost all their battery fluid. At times, tracks went in every direction causing some confusion. There were frightening incidences,, but fortunately we survived. We hope you enjoy traveling with us. -Ted and Emma
