Australian music has a proud, colourful and successful history. In 2008, Australian rock and roll turned 50. This book names the best Australian albums of the last 50 years. It places each album in order (from 1 u 100) and discusses why each album deserves its place. It tells the story behind the making of the album, where the album fits in the artist's career and the album's impact on the local and world stage etc. The entries will feature new interviews with the artists and the producers/managers involved in the recording and the release of the album. It wouldn't be a good list if it didn't polarise people and we hope that this list will. We also hope that it will get people sitting around comparing their favourites and discovering or re-discovering these great albums and others. With 70 years of loving and writing about Australian music between us, we shamelessly believe we've earned the right to write this book. And we think we've got it right. Let the debate begin.o u John O'Donnell, April 2010 Finally, here is a much-needed list of argument-starting top 100 seminal/ influential/essential Australian albums of all time. Let the fight begin!

Daddy Who? is the story of a phenomenon, a band that in eighteen short months changed the course of Australian rock history. Author and musician Craig Horne was with Daddy Cool every inch of the way. With an insider's view, he tracks the journey from when they burst onto the scene in October 1970, with their infectious doo-wop mayhem, and follows their rapid rise to the top—when they were on the front cover of every newspaper and rock magazine in the country, and when radio churned out hits like 'Eagle Rock', 'Come Back Again' and 'Hi Honey Ho!' virtually nonstop. The book reveals the madness of Daddy Cool's three US tours, from their showcase performance at LA's Whisky A Go Go, to New York's famed Madison Square Garden, and supporting the likes of Elvin Bishop, Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, Little Feat and Captain Beefheart. "Daddy Who? is the first book to tell the complete story of the enduring legacy of one of the most unique and much loved bands Australia has ever produced. Daddy Cool are one of the most impressive bands I've ever heard ... And 'Eagle Rock' is one of my favourite tracks of all time." — Sir Elton John, 1975

In The Complete Beatles Songs, Steve Turner shatters many well-worn myths and adds a new dimension to the Fab Four's rich legacy. This beautifully packaged book examines every Beatles-penned song and the inspiration behind them all; with fresh research and packed with new information, there are revelations aplenty. The book covers the Fab Four's entire output chapter by chapter and includes a complete set of printed lyrics to accompany each song, used with exclusive permission from the band's music publishers. Who was 'just seventeen' and made Paul's heart go 'boom'? Who was 'Lady Madonna'? Was there really an Eleanor Rigby? What inspired 'Happiness is a Warm Gun'? Why was Paul the 'walrus' and what inspired the lyrics to Ringo's 'Octopus's Garden'?
