Revival is the heart's cry of those truly consecrated to God. Then why has revival become a catch phrase that is talked about more than it's witnessed in the Christian experience? Why Revival Still Tarries reveals that the Church is actually responsible for revival's standstill. Refusing to take up the Cross thwarts the Holy Spirit from doing what is necessary to work His will through us. Do you want to join the front lines of a new generation of prophetic evangelism? Then discover how dying-to-self is what ushers in an anointing that makes the unbeliever take notice of God's glory.

Leonard Ravenhill's call to revival is as timely now as it was when ¹rst published over forty years ago. The message is fearless and often radical as he expounds on the disparity between the New Testament church and the church today. Why Revival Tarries contains the heart of his message. A.W. Tozer called Ravenhill "a man sent from God" who "appeared at [a] critical moment in history," just as the Old Testament prophets did. Included are questions for group and individual study.

In all of the recorded New Testament, there was only one time when the Apostles and other Believers sat waiting for God to come and empower them. As you know, Jesus had specifically told them to wait and stay in Jerusalem until they got "the promise."Yes, there were addition times of "refilling," but after the Day of Pentecost and the "promised" outpouring of The Holy Spirit, these guys were pretty much off and running. The new command now, after previously being strictly told to wait for the Holy Spirit, was/is "GO YE into all the world!" The waiting for the Holy Spirit was over, and yet, today's church is still continuously waiting for God to come and do something more. Even those of us who have been filled with the Holy Spirit repeatedly, have bought into the idea that we should keep waiting for God and all the big things that are "about to happen." Everyone seems to be an expert on revival these days. Many are ready to stand up and tell everyone that we need to do this, that, and the other thing, before we can have revival. But, even the "experts," who are supposed to be leading the way, aren't having revival. They're just talking about it. There always seems to be "one more spiritual stone" to uncover before revival can happen. It seems we have come to love having the things of God just barely out of reach. It's as if we don't want it to be "today." Could it be that the power and cause of revival have been under our noses all along, though we've chosen to ignore this for one reason of another? Has the answer been buried under a mountain of religion, endless church activity, and deception? Maybe, we simply haven't done what Jesus told us to do. We have been led to believe that when someone receives a healing, or some kind of miracle, a window of heaven has been opened. Or, "a portal above us is releasing something new," so maybe revival is starting. In reality, though, we're supposed to be causing healings and miracles all the time with the authority Jesus has given us. We are no longer separated from God and His power, and He's not holding anything back in Heaven. Jesus told us to do the very things that would cause revival: heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out devils. But for the most part, we've ignored the Great Commission because we've never learned how to do these things. The Great Commission basically says, "Go out and prove that God is here with us. Prove that what we are saying is true." But all we seem to know is how to debate. The "real" Gospel, with "signs following," will bring revival. This is really what the New Testament church is supposed to look like. But, we keep waiting for God to come and do these things because we don't know how, or what it even takes. We have little or no idea on how to dispense God's power as proof, even though the New Testament is replete with examples of how to show that Jesus is alive. This book is a revelation on the development of "Great Faith," which Jesus simply defined as the "understanding of authority." Did Jesus really mean it when He said we could do the same things He was doing? If we're going to do the Great Commission, and I mean all of it, then we're going to have to have great faith, authority, and power. The order has already been given, so the ball is in our court. While we've been waiting for God, He's been waiting for us. Is it really possible to increase our faith to the point of producing the same miracles that Jesus did? We've been led to believe that our faith isn't really the issue because "God can do anything." But, again, God TOLD US TO DO these things. HE GAVE US The Great Commission. So, is Jesus' promise in Luke 10:19, that of having "authority over all the power of the devil," really the truth? And if so, what is it that we are missing?

For decades, many prophetic words have been released, promising revival to the world. Some of these declarations even include numbers, such as "the billion-soul revival." Most Christians firmly believe that these prophecies are accurate, so they sit back and wait for the coming revival, praying that it will happen soon. But what if we need to do much more than just wait and pray? In Why Revival Tarries, Matthew Robert Payne addresses possible reasons for the delay of the coming revival. But rest assured, you will be surprised at the reasons he lists. Hint: This delay has nothing to do with the unsaved. After listing some of these reasons, this powerful and convicting book wraps up with a word from Jesus and a word from God the Father for the reader. So fasten your seat belt and hang on tight! Prepare for a wild ride and enjoy the journey!
