We thought we were safe. We couldn’t have been more wrong. Adrik’s life hangs in the balance, and saving him is all that matters—until I learn the terrifying cost. Luca Diablo isn’t just a friend, he’s family. Betraying him to save Adrik? Unthinkable. But that’s exactly what it might take. Luca claims there’s another way, but his plan is pure madness. And the choice? It’s all mine. No pressure, right? Just the fate of the entire supernatural race resting on my shoulders. One wrong move, and I could lose everything—and everyone—I’ve ever loved. Dead End is the final book in the Supernatural Security Force series. Perfect for fans of Patricia Briggs & Laura Greenwood.

In new forms of writing this is one of three books which represent stages of a serious artistic search for a modern dialectic of mark, word and image spanning twenty years. With an aesthetic that dissolves conventional boundaries of visual Art and Literature, the abstract alphabetical poem, my it to you and the narrative proem, In the Way of It are both written solely in monosyllables. The selection of spaced prints of alphabetical poems (such as Rubicon) in The Poetry of It was inspired initially by a surrealist experiment in automatic writing in 1988 which triggered an extensive period in which dreams errupted onto the page in the written form of fragmented words. Written in the form of double columns, ‘Mac’s Story’, In The Way of It, gives an account of how these works came to be made along with The Book of It, his humorous satire on contemporary capitalism published in 2010.All three new works celebrate the Centenary of the revolution in visual language made by the avant-gardes in what Marjorie Perloff calls ‘The Futurist Moment’ in Modernist Art.

In the first book to systematically deal with Daoism (Taoism) from a rhetorical perspective, author Steven C. Combs advances the idea that the works of Daoist (Taoist) sages Laozi (Lao Tzu), Zhuangzi (Chuang Tzu), and Sunzi (Sun Tzu) can be fused into a coherent rhetorical genre, which can then form a methodology for rhetorical criticism. This notion of Daoist rhetoric enables critics to examine discourse from new vantage points with novel processes and concepts that honor the creativity and complexity of human communication. Combs also critically examines four contemporary films—The Tao of Steve, A Bug's Life, Antz, and Shrek—to amplify rhetorical Daoism, to indicate clear differences between Western and Daoist values, and to offer fresh perspectives on individuals and social action. The book argues that Daoism provides a lens for viewing limitations of current Western rhetorical theorizing, positioning Daoist rhetoric as a potent critical perspective in the contemporary, postmodern world.
