The Carson River drainage has 10 percent above average snowpack, and the Walker River drainage is slightly less at lo5 percent. The entire area experienced a heavy snowstorm late in February and early March. Effects of this storm are not Shown in snow measure ments recorded in this report that were taken on or before February 27. Because of the storm's magnitude, the streamflow forecasts issued do, however, take into account the storm's effects. Snow conditions through out most of the area now exceed the average maximum buildup which usually occurs near April 1.
