Christ comes to his wayward church to present his gospel plan for the salvation of man which they have fallen short of. The church has been negligent in his call for them to repent because it believes in a traditional gospel of the Pharisees that is too proud to repent. He knows their works intimately and rebukes its leaders for their lukewarm gospel which withholds the weightier matters of his law from sinners to save them.His Spirit counsels the church to Repent!
