But does over-parenting help, or hurt? While parents who are embarrassingly and obviously inappropriate come in for ridicule, many people find themselves drawn to the idea that with just a little more parental elbow grease, they might turn kids with amazing talents and assured futures. The main question of whether there really is anything wrong with a kind of over-parenting lite still remains unanswered. Parental involvement has rich and long history of being studied and researched. Decades of research, many of them by renown clinical and developmental psychologists, have revealed that the optimal parent is one who is responsive and involved; who sets high expectations but still respects his/her kid's autonomy. The "authoritative parents" tend to hit the sweet spot of the appropriate parental involvement and usually tend to raise kids who perform better academically, socially and psychologically compared to kids whose parents are either more involved and controlling, or less involved and permissive.

Table of Contents Introduction Children and Peer Pressure Mind What Your Kids Do When Idle How Parents Influence Children’s Behavior Having A Role Model and Mentor Traits of DisciplinedChildren Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Disciplinecan be defined as the attribute or trait of being well behaved. A disciplined person is one whose behavior is generally accepted or approved by the society. In order to be categorized as a disciplined person, there are several things that you have to always do regardless of whether you’re alone or in public. There are also several things that you must never do if you’re interested in becoming a disciplined person. Discipline entails how you relate with other people, what you say to them and how you say it. It is quite easy to gauge somebody’s manners just a few minutes after meeting him/her for the first time. Even if they try to hide it, they will eventually slip and reveal their true self. This means that regardless of how much you try to hide it, other people will eventually know if you’re disciplined or undisciplined. This principle applies to children as much as it applies to adults. Even if you coach your child how to behave when you have visitors, the child will eventually slip and reveal his true character. Rather than wait till your child matures, why not nurture discipline in him while he is still young? Level of discipline will determine how successful your child will be in future. So as to be successful academically or in their careers, children have to be always disciplined. Discipline is also one of the core attributes insuccessful sportsmen and women. Therefore, if your child is dreaming of becoming a successful sportsman, you have to nurture discipline in them. Nurturing discipline in a child also helps them stay out of trouble or jail. If you carefully analyze hardcore criminals, you will note that most of them were undisciplined while young. Your kid will never be employed or fully accepted in the society if he is indiscipline. Even if he gets employed in future, he will probably get fired as soon as he reveals bad behavior. The book “How to Nurture Discipline in Children” contains, tips on how to nurture discipline in children. You need to read this book if you have children or are planning to have children in future. After reading it, you’ll know what to do and what not to do so as to nurture discipline in your kids. You’ll also know how to behave whenever you’re around your kids. Decades of research have demonstrated that the parent-child dyad and the environment of the familyâ€"which includes all primary caregiversâ€"are at the foundation of children's well- being and healthy development. From birth, children are learning and rely on parents and the other caregivers in their lives to protect and care for them. The impact of parents may never be greater than during the earliest years of life, when a child's brain is rapidly developing and when nearly all of her or his experiences are created and shaped by parents and the family environment. Parents help children build and refine their knowledge and skills, charting a trajectory for their health and well-being during childhood and beyond. The experience of parenting also impacts parents themselves. For instance, parenting can enrich and give focus to parents' lives; generate stress or calm; and create any number of emotions, including feelings of happiness, sadness, fulfillment, and anger. Parenting of young children today takes place in the context of significant ongoing developments. These include: a rapidly growing body of science on early childhood, increases in funding for programs and services for families, changing demographics of the U.S. population, and greater diversity of family structure. Additionally, parenting is increasingly being shaped by technology and increased access to information about parenting. Parenting Matters identifies parenting knowledge, attitudes, and practices associated with positive developmental outcomes in children ages 0-8; universal/preventive and targeted strategies used in a variety of settings that have been effective with parents of young children and that support the identified knowledge, attitudes, and practices; and barriers to and facilitators for parents' use of practices that lead to healthy child outcomes as well as their participation in effective programs and services. This report makes recommendations directed at an array of stakeholders, for promoting the wide-scale adoption of effective programs and services for parents and on areas that warrant further research to inform policy and practice. It is meant to serve as a roadmap for the future of parenting policy, research, and practice in the United States.

Parental Attitudes Teenage Discipline Defiant Behavior in Children - Boot Camps Taking on the Responsibility of Raising a Girl Child Mama, daddy, Why Do Not You Listen? Conclusion Author Bio What Do You Mean by Parenting Responsibly? "It is not enough just becoming a parent; you need to take on the responsibility of a lifetime of conscientious guidance. No man should bring children into the world who is unwilling to persevere to the end in their nature and education." [Plato - 427-347 BC] This was written millenniums ago, by one of the most famous philosophers of Classical Times, Plato, but even though we read his books and his system, we definitely do not know how to apply his teachings in bringing up children, responsibly and conscientiously. The Science of Living is a series, in which you take example from daily life, and try to implement them in your own lifestyle and gain guidance from the lessons taught to you by the people who have gone before you based on their experience, knowledge and wisdom. This particular book is going to tell you all about parenting responsibly, and whether you are doing it for your own children, or are you just shirking responsibility?
